Prince Harry Has ‘Faded in Meghan Markle’s Shadow’ and They ‘Bring Out the Worst in Each Other,’ Expert Claims
Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex have weathered the storm of negative media attention and carved out a new path away from the royal spotlight, but one expert believes their relationship isn’t the healthiest. The royal biographer claims that they “bring out the worst in each other” and that Harry has “faded in her shadow.”
Do Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘bring out the worst in each other’?
Angela Levin, author of Harry: Conversations with the Prince, believes that Meghan’s desire to be a “mega-watt attention grabber with the eyes of the world on her” has caused Prince Harry to take a backseat to her.
In a piece written for The Telegraph (via Daily Mail), Levin paints a picture of Meghan as “a fiercely ambitious woman who wants to be number one” — who was not a “team player” in the royal family — noting how her ambition has reportedly changed Prince Harry in a big way.
According to Levin, Prince Harry went from “charismatic and accessible” to “a nervy, tense man who seems constantly on edge” who “faded in her shadow.” Additionally, Levin maintains that Meghan “seemingly finds it difficult to compromise” and will “zoom in on the negative.” As a result, the biographer claims that Prince Harry and Meghan “bring out the worst in each other.”
Prior to meeting Meghan, Levin explains, Prince Harry was a combination of “royal stardust” and “accessible everyman,” but his “dark side” came out and “enveloped” him.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s body language has been revealing
Levin’s beliefs about Harry and Meghan may or may not be true, but the couple’s body language during a recent video call seems to support some of her claims.
Prince Harry and Meghan participated in a video call in early July for the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and body language expert Judi James found that Prince Harry seemed to be “eclipsed” by Meghan.
James explained her findings of the couple’s interaction to The Sun, asking, “Is Harry looking increasingly like a fish out of water in the U.S.? His body language in this video link-up looks rather awkward, especially next to his wife.”
James pointed out how Meghan was confident about what she was discussing. “Meghan showed glimpses of her skill of speaking passionately about her causes and her ability to inspire people when she was in the UK but with the safety harness of royal restrictions off she is seen relating to and having empathy with young people in a way that Harry, with his privileged upbringing, never could,” she noted.
Prince Harry’s placement in the video appeared to give Meghan “the space to gesticulate confidently and speak with her eyes straight into the camera.”
She added that the way Prince Harry looked down during the call “suggests a lack of confidence or a desire to hide momentarily” and that he was “eclipsed” by Meghan’s speaking skills.
“He is clearly eclipsed by her skills of speaking in a calm but passionate inspirational tone and it would be no surprise if he weren’t in awe of her talent to speak from the heart and convey messages that could be life-changing,” James explained.
