Shortly after stepping down from their royal duties and moving to America, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed multi-year deals with Spotify and Netflix to produce content. However, the duke and duchess were in no rush to get to work as it took more time than anyone anticipated for them to put out any material.

Two years after inking the deal, Meghan’s Archetypes podcast finally debuted. But after just 12 episodes and one season, Spotify canceled the podcast and ended its partnership with the Sussexes before a company executive publicly called the pair “f***** grifters.”

A few months later, the couple hit a home run with their first docuseries for Netflix titled Harry & Meghan. But the next two shows they released on the platform Heart of Invictus and Live to Lead flopped. Now, royal watchers are asking what Meghan and Harry actually do. And if they have different visions of how to make a mark in Hollywood as the prince really dislikes the path his wife seems to crave.

Commentator insists Prince Harry can’t stand one aspect of Meghan’s world

Before Meghan married Harry, she was a working actor which led some to believe she would get back into that when she moved back. That hasn’t happened but a commentator says Meghan still seems to want the Hollywood spotlight even though that is something the duke hates.

Speaking on Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered, commentator Kevin O’Sullivan said: “This is the tense dynamic of that relationship. Harry hates showbiz, he doesn’t understand it, and it’s not part of his world. And that’s why he hasn’t been embraced by Hollywood because he’s an alien creature to Tinseltown and Tinseltown is not interested in him.

“He doesn’t want to be in the movies, he doesn’t want to write a script. If you’re in Hollywood and you don’t have a script you want people to see, they don’t understand you. Harry doesn’t want to know anything about that.”

Meghan is reportedly ‘struggling to find her footing in Hollywood’ at the moment

According to Schofield, the world Harry “hates” is still the one Meghan sees herself in, but the duchess has been “struggling” with what she can offer nowadays.

Schofield told Talk TV: “Some of these entertainment outlets here talk about with headlines ‘Meghan Markle struggles to find footing in Hollywood,’ ‘Prince Harry refuses another business disaster.’ Aside from that translating to Meghan Markle is struggling in Hollywood.”

The To Di for Daily podcast host then questioned: “Is [Meghan] a producer? Because for a while we heard she was going to be this big behind-the-scenes producer … Is she a podcast host? Because not only did Spotify give her the boot, Lemonada Media has postponed her podcast to 2025. Is she still an actress? Because there’s a Suits reboot and everybody’s asking, ‘Is Meghan Markle going to be in the Suits reboot?

“Is she an influencer? Because everybody says she wants to be like Goop with American Riviera Orchard. Is she going to be the president of the United States? At the end of the day, the conclusion that we came to is ‘Is she going to be anything’ because where is the tangible result of any of this talk.”

Meghan’s next project is reportedly a cooking and gardening show she is curating for Netflix. The program’s description says it will “celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship.” Schofield noted that residents who live near the Sussexes in Montecito said they only saw production trucks at Meghan Harry’s home one day to shoot scenes with the duchess.
