Prince Harry Influenced the Way Prince William Stepped Out of His Comfort Zone Recently, Royal Expert Says
Prince Harry is being called a “trailblazer” for influencing the way his brother Prince William recently stepped out of his comfort zone, a royal expert shared. William recently broke from typical royal tradition and opened up about his personal life, something fans loved.
William shared personal details in a recent podcast
Prince William shared some tidbits about his personal life in the Apple Fitness+ podcast Time to Walk, including a memory of his mother Princess Diana and Prince Harry.
“When I was younger, Harry and I, we were at boarding school. And my mother used to play all sorts of songs to kind of while away the anxiety of going back to school,” Prince William shared.
“And one of the songs I massively remember and has stuck with me all this time, and I still, to this day, still quite enjoy secretly, is Tina Turner’s ‘The Best’ because sitting in the backseat, singing away, it felt like a real family moment,” he explained.
Prince William went on to share that Diana would be driving and “singing at the top of her voice.”
William continued, “You’d be singing and listening to the music right the way out into the gates of school, when they dropped you off.”
The song will forever hold a special place in William’s heart because of that memory. “When I listen to it now, it takes me back to those car rides and brings back lots of memories of my mother,” he shared.
Royal expert believes Prince Harry influenced Prince William’s move to be more open
Royal expert Rebecca English shared her take on William’s move to be “a bit more daring” and open in this way, giving credit to Harry.
During an appearance on Palace Confidential, the host asked, “We all know about Harry’s broadcasting on these sorts of topics. Do you think William is quite influenced by everything that his brother does?”
English explained that Prince Harry may have influenced Prince William in a way. “Something slightly difficult to quantify because how much is it of William just getting a bit older and getting a bit more daring and a bit more comfortable in the public eye and kind of getting out of his comfort zone?” she wondered.
English continued, “But I think you do have to give Harry credit where credit’s due. He was quite a trailblazer in this field, doing something a little bit different, more personal that was kind of outside of the traditional royal role.”
Prince William is also ‘feeling comfortable,’ according to royal expert
English went on to analyze how William and Kate Middleton’s social media manager once handled Harry and Meghan Markle’s accounts. “I think you can definitely see that in some of the social media posts they do,” she explained.
The expert also noted that while Harry has had some influence on William being more open, there’s also a sense that William is “feeling comfortable” these days.
“So I think you have to credit Harry with being some of the inspiration,” English explained. “But this is also about William feeling comfortable to slightly break out of the mold a bit as well.”
