Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Allegedly Did Not Call Kate Middleton for Her 40th Birthday, Royal Commentator Says

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly estranged from some members of the royal family. As such, whenever there is a special occasion, many royal followers wonder if either side would communicate to express well wishes.

Kate Middleton recently celebrated her milestone 40th birthday. However, according to a royal commentator, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not call her about it.

Kate’s birthday was on Jan. 9. A few days later, royal author Christopher Andersen alleged that Harry and Meghan had a private video call with Kate to send her well wishes.

“From what I understand, they did a video call,” Andersen told Us Weekly. “They wished her a happy birthday, very private, but Harry and Meghan were not about to post anything the way they did two years ago when Kate turned 38. Both Harry and Meghan made a very public display of their affection for Kate, wishing her a happy birthday. This time, they kept private.”

Anderson also alleged that Kate celebrated her birthday with a “small family affair” at her country house, Anmer Hall.

However, according to royal commentator Neil Sean, Harry and Meghan did not actually speak to Kate over video call for her birthday.

“There are reports that they decided to … partake in a Zoom call with Catherine and William,” Sean said in a YouTube video. He added, “What we can tell you first here on the show is that there was a card and the card was delivered to the royal residences. As far as I am aware, there were no Zoom calls, FaceTime’s, Skype’s. That simply was made up by the media.”

Sean alleged that he spoke with a palace source, who said that, in order for a video call to happen, a staffer would have to “set that up” in a “social media room.”

The Sussexes and Kate Middleton seemed to be at odds in 2021

According to Sean, the Sussexes made Kate’s year “incredibly difficult,” which could explain why the two sides did not sit down for a chat.

In 2021, Harry and Meghan spoke to the media to criticize the royal family. Meghan accused the royal institution of not helping her adjust to life as a duchess and denied her help for her mental health. She also claimed there were racist remarks made about her son’s skin color.

Additionally, Meghan brought up a feud she and Kate had when the former was planning her 2018 royal wedding. Meghan alleged that Kate made her cry, though she also said that Kate brought her flowers to repair the rift.

Meanwhile, Harry claimed he inherited “genetic pain and suffering” from his father and that he was “trapped” in the royal institution.

This has led to many reports of the Sussexes being estranged from their royal relatives.
