Prince Harry and Meghan Markle live outside the royal bubble, allowing them to parent their children differently than Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, do they have it “easier” as parents than the future king and queen of the United Kingdom?

Why is parenting easier for Harry and Meghan Markle than William and Kate Middleton?

As reported by GB News, royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the UK edition of OK! Magazine that she believes it’s easier for Harry and Meghan to parent their children than Prince William and Kate Middleton. Without the restraints of royal life, the couple can be present for more life events.

“The warm weather and outdoor lifestyle in Montecito must make bringing up children a joy. It is so much easier to get them away from screens and TV, which Harry and Meghan clearly both feel very strongly about,” Bond explained.

“I think [Harry] is relishing his role as a parent and playing the fullest part he can in the lives of his two tots. He’s lucky enough to be able to share most of their lives so I’m sure Harry is a devoted dad and no stranger to nappy changing or school runs,” she continued.

In contrast, the Prince and Princess of Wales adhered to a structured royal family workload before Kate Middleton’s cancer scare. But, they always put their children first and weren’t busy frontline royals like Princess Anne, King Charles, and Camilla Parker Bowles.

William and Kate are parenting the next generation of senior royals. Therefore, they must balance real life and royal structure. While their kids’ lives are predetermined by their pedigree, Kate and William allow their kids more freedom than previous generations of royal offspring, but definitely not as much as Harry’s children will experience.

Is Prince Harry trying to give his kids the ‘perfect upbringing’ after Princess Diana, King Charles turmoil?

Prince William and Prince Harry have prioritized their children from the moment they became fathers. Prince William is the father of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, while Prince Harry is the father of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

By concentrating on their roles as parents and husbands, both princes are breaking the cycle of divorce and its effect on the children at the center of the breakup. Jennie Bond spoke about how Diana and Charles’ split affected Harry.

“It’s hard to know exactly when the damage wrought by his parent’s broken marriage began to make its mark on Harry. “He was only eight when Charles and Diana officially separated, but he had witnessed the marital difficulties long before that,” she explained.

“I’m sure the insecurity of his own childhood has made him all the more determined to give his kids the perfect upbringing and to have them wrapped in a bubble of love and awareness of the love between their parents,” Bond said of Harry’s marriage to Meghan.

Harry also shared with Anderson Cooper during a 60 Minutes interview that fatherhood helped him understand his mother more. He said he now comprehended Diana’s position as a parent with intense media pressure.
