Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Can ‘Make a Splash’ in This Simple Way
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have certainly made a splash a time or two. Ahem, their Oprah tell-all interview, docuseries, Spare…the list goes on. These days, though, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex don’t have to sit down for a no-holds-barred conversation. A commentator says they can “make a splash” in a much more low-key way that involves their children and some royal relatives.
Harry and Meghan can ‘make a splash’ by showing Archie and Lili in Portugal
Speaking to the U.K.’s GB News, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams shared how Harry and Meghan can “make a splash” by simply allowing the world to see their two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, with Princess Eugenie’s sons in Portugal.
Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, split their time between England and Portugal, along with their sons, nearly 4-year-old August, and Ernest, 19 months. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan reportedly bought a home in Portugal in 2024 (more on that later).
“The link with Eugenie is interesting, as she and Harry are quite close. They’ve seen quite a bit of each other. So there are a lot of question marks there,” Fitzwilliams said. “If the Sussexes decide to let us see Archie and Lili, we haven’t seen much of them, maybe with Eugenie and Jack and their family and so on, that will make a splash.”
Harry and Meghan, the commentator added, “know what they’re doing” with the Portugal home purchase, and the public will, “in time,” know what they plan to do with it.
Reports of Harry and Meghan’s Portugal home surfaced in October 2024
Harry and Meghan have not one but two homes to call their own after relocating to Montecito, Calif., in 2020. In October 2024, reports surfaced that the couple bought a vacation home in Portugal near Harry’s cousin, Eugenie, and her husband.
According to Tatler, Hary and Meghan bought one of 300 new builds at the CostaTerra Gold and Ocean Club, an exclusive property in Melides, Portugal. The price for such a getaway? A reported $4.7 million. Famous neighbors include Paris Hilton, George Clooney, and, of course, Eugenie.
The homes, which were reported as soon-to-be-built at the time, are made with locally sourced building materials. Options include extensive gardens, stunning ocean views, and an indoor-outdoor look.
News of the purchase became public in October 2024
Harry and Meghan last gave a glimpse of Archie and Lili in their 2024 Christmas card
One of the rare moments when Harry and Meghan gave the world a look at their two children came courtesy of their 2024 Christmas card. Among six photos was one of Archie and Lili. They stood with their backs to the camera, about to embrace their parents in a hug. The family of four was also joined by their three dogs, Pula, Mia, and the now-deceased Guy.
The last time the duke and duchess gave the public a significant look inside Archie and Lili’s lives was in their 2022 Netflix docuseries. Harry & Meghan featured personal photos and videos of the two young royals and their lives in California.
These days, Harry and Meghan are more likely to make the rare mention of Archie and Lili. However, there is also the chance, albeit a very small one, they might join their parents at the Invictus Games in February 2025.
