Prince Harry and Meghan Markle together again. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex eased up on joint appearances in 2024, opting instead for more solo outings. Now they’re reportedly switching things up with a new PR strategy that will have them stepping out together more often.

Harry and Meghan have a ‘renewed focus’ on joint appearances

Harry and Meghan are sticking together when it comes to public appearances, a “well-placed source” told the U.K.’s Express. It’s said to be part of a new strategy since the PR firm Three Gate Strategies took over the couple’s communications earlier in January 2025.

Led by Harry and Meghan’s former communications head, Ashley Hansen, the agency is pushing for a “renewed focus” on joint appearances from the pair.

“There will be a renewed focus on the Sussexes as a couple, as a brand, and showcasing them as a couple and family,” the insider said. “The Sussexes have decided to step back a little and let Ashley take the reins on their PR plan.”

The decision, the source suggested, is part of a united front to improve Harry and Meghan’s public image.

Harry and Meghan have 2 joint appearances planned so far

The California-based royals are hitting the ground running with their new PR strategy. Just weeks into 2025 Harry and Meghan are said to have not one but two joint appearances lined up for the coming months.

The source claimed Harry and Meghan will attend the opening ceremony for the 2025 Invictus Games together on Feb. 8, 2025, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Harry reportedly planned to go alone. However, given their new PR strategy, Meghan is now joining him.

“It was important for the Sussexes to appear together at such a worthwhile event,” the source explained. “The Invictus Games is a Sussex initiative and something they want their children [Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet] to continue once they get older.”

In addition to the Invictus Games, which will run from Feb. 8-16, 2025, Harry and Meghan are also said to be planning a fundraiser for victims of the California wildfires. And, who knows, maybe they’ll promote the release of Meghan’s new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, which will premiere in March 2025, with a joint appearance. Only time will tell.

‘Constant criticism’ inspired the new Sussex PR strategy

So, what’s behind the change in strategy for Harry and Meghan? Supposedly the “constant criticism” they’re up against. Since the new year began, they’ve been slammed for being “disaster tourists” after visiting victims and first responders of the California wildfires and described as “the most entitled, disingenuous people on the planet” in a bombshell report from Vanity Fair.

“The [Vanity Fair] article has been very upsetting for both Harry and Meghan,” a source said. “They are fed up with the constant criticism they receive when they are trying very hard. Team Sussex believes the tide needs to turn and this is why a new approach is being taken.”
