Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Team Are Reportedly ‘Separating’ Them for Publicity, Royal Expert Says
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are a famous royal couple. They got married in 2018 and seem like a tight unit. However, according to a royal expert, fans could see the couple more separated in the near future. The expert alleges that this is a PR move from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s team.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been appearing in public without each other
Harry and Meghan moved to California in 2020 in order to pursue a more private life, though the couple continues to appear in public here and there. Sometimes Harry and Meghan are together, but recently they have been taking on more solo engagements.
For example, in November 2021, Meghan and Harry spoke at two different events just days apart. On Nov. 9, Harry appeared on a panel called The Internet Lie Machine to speak about misinformation perpetuated by the media. Then, on Nov. 13, Meghan had an interview with The New York Times’ DealBook Online Summit about misinformation as well as other topics such as paid parental leave.
In early February 2022, Harry appeared at an event for BetterUp to talk about mental health and work. On Feb. 10, he had a chat on the Tackle HIV podcast to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.
Most recently, on Feb. 13, Harry attended the Super Bowl. He was there with his cousin Princess Eugenie. Many fans were surprised to not see Meghan at the Super Bowl, though an explanation has not been given by the Sussexes.
A royal expert alleges the Sussexes’ team are ‘separating’ them for publicity
According to royal commentator Neil Sean, Harry and Meghan could be attending more public events solo in order to raise their profile.
“Her team allegedly have decided that—why put them out together when you can get double the exposure by separating them?” Sean said in a YouTube video. “And more importantly, if you separate them, they’re both selling two different angles of the brand.”
Sean also pointed out that this strategy is financially beneficial for the couple as they could cover different events and earn more money.
Fans can expect to see more from the Sussexes this year
For several months in 2021, Harry and Meghan were on parental leave after welcoming their second child, Lilibet. However, the couple has since been back to work. According to a royal expert Omid Scobie in August 2021, the Sussexes were entering an “era of visibility.”
“They seem to be existing in a different place, and that place is much healthier,” Omid Scobie told People. “Meghan famously spoke about that it was not enough to survive — we are now in the thrive chapter.”
Scobie also shared that Harry and Meghan are expected to meet more people to further their work. He said, “They’re a couple who do very well in those moments of human interaction. They need to be on the ground. They say that the proof is in the pudding, and what we are about to see is that pudding.”
