Some royal fans still ask themselves today: Where did everything go wrong with Prince Harry and his family, particularly his brother and sister-in-law?

Many people recall seeing photos and videos over the years of the trio smiling, laughing, and joking together every time they were out and about. But at some point, trouble began brewing behind the scenes and it eventually became too much for Harry, who decided he couldn’t hide his feelings anymore. So in 2020, he and his wife, Meghan Markle, quit working for the royals and moved to America.

Since then, the Duke of Sussex has done controversial interviews, appeared on podcasts, and released a docuseries and a tell-all memoir in which he took shots at his family members, made damning allegations, and aired out their dirty laundry. It seems like if the prince wanted to reconcile with the royals he would offer an apology. But an expert is claiming that Harry is the one who wants an apology and he wants it to come directly from Prince William and Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton).

Prince Harry has said himself in the past that he would like to hear an apology from his family. According to royal author and expert Tom Quinn, the Sussexes still feel now they are owed an apology from William and Kate and that the Waleses should agree for the sake of their young families.

Quinn told The Mirror: “[Harry] wants to reconcile with his brother so that the children can have some kind of a relationship, but he and Meghan still think that a groveling apology needs to come from William and Kate first. Harry has spoken to friends about his sadness at not having a closer relationship with his niece and nephews, but what is upsetting him even more is the prospect of Lilibet and Archie having no relationship at all with George, Charlotte, and Louis.”

The royal expert added: “He has implied that if he gets an apology from his family then he is prepared to forgive. But that just isn’t going to happen.”

Prince William and Kate reportedly washed their hands of anything to do with the Sussexes

The reason Quinn and many others insist that’s not going to happen is because of the buzz that’s been coming from those close to Waleses over the last several months following Kate’s cancer diagnosis.

Insiders told Heat magazine that at this point, the prince and princess have pretty much washed their hands of Meghan and Harry and anything to do with them. The sources added that during their holiday and Balmoral Castle, William and Kate implemented a ban so that no one would even speak about the Sussexes.

“Kate and William have put a self-imposed ban on anything Meghan and Harry related, as they take time out to enjoy some much-needed respite and family time this summer,” one source said. “Kate’s still very much focusing on her healing, and they decided to create a firm boundary to protect her from all the stress and upset Harry and Meghan create, which understandably has a negative impact on her physical health, as well as mental health.”
