Prince Archie to the rescue? An author claims Prince Harry sees his and Meghan Markle’s 5-year-old son as the “perfect person” to repair the royal family rift. Why? Because, in Archie’s presence, the “older bitter arguments might well begin to disappear.”

Harry thinks Archie can help bring the royal family back together

According to author Tom Quinn, Archie, the oldest of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s two children, just might be able to make the years-long rift go away.

“Harry is beginning to think Archie might be the perfect person to help heal the divisions in the family,” Quinn told Mirror. “Back in the U.K. with Archie by his side, the old bitter arguments might well begin to disappear.”

“Harry is undoubtedly becoming increasingly worried that his children will have no relationship with their grandfather [King Charles III]. Or, indeed, with their cousins.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with their three kids—Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 5—live in Windsor, England.

“He sees a way through this which will allow Meghan to stay in the USA while he occasionally visits with Archie and, later on, [Princess] Lilibet.”

Meanwhile, Meghan, 42, is “totally against the idea.” According to Quinn, that means “Prince Archie won’t be visiting the UK again any time soon.”

There may be no relationship left for Archie to save amid the ‘final nail in the coffin’

What happened during Harry’s time in London, England, for the 10-year Invictus Games anniversary may have changed things. That is, there might not be any relationship left for Archie to help repair.

According to a royal insider, any chance of a reconciliation ended when King Charles made Prince William Colonel-in-Chief of Britain’s Army Air Corps. Harry served in the regiment while in the army. Plus, the role might’ve reportedly gone to the 39-year-old had he not left royal life.

Although announced prior to Harry’s U.K. visit, Buckingham Palace revealed the date of the ceremony—May 13, 2024—during Harry’s trip. Perceived widely as a “snub” in the British press, an insider described the timing as the “final nail in the coffin” of a potential reconciliation to The Daily Beast.

“Harry has been stripped of security, stripped of his HRH title, denied a meeting with his father,” they said. “And now his brother—who loathes him—is being made head of his old regiment.”

“The timing of the handover is the final nail in the coffin,” the source continued. “The message that he is now just another outsider could not be any clearer.”

The next time the Sussexes will see the rest of the British royal family is unclear

So, when will Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet see their royal counterparts across the pond for a family get-together? That question hasn’t been answered, at least not publicly.

No visit, whether in California, the U.K., or elsewhere, has been announced at the time of writing. That means their 2022 London trip for Platinum Jubilee weekend remains their most recent U.K. visit.

Meanwhile, Harry’s made multiple solo visits to the U.K. since the celebration honoring his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Although he visited London for the Invictus Games anniversary in May 2024, he didn’t meet with King Charles. So, February 2024 remains their most recent in-person meeting.

There have been reports that King Charles might invite the Sussex family to Balmoral, an invitation Harry and Meghan would be eager to accept. But that was before the drama during Harry’s Invictus visit and his father’s schedule being too “full” for a meeting.
