Prince Harry’s Upcoming Memoir Might ‘Heavily’ Feature Camilla Parker Bowles, Royal Expert Says
After stepping away from the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed with Penguin Random House to release books. In 2021, Meghan released a children’s book called The Bench. Now all eyes are on Harry as the Duke of Sussex is set to release a memoir about his life.
Harry has not given many details about what stories will go into his memoir. However, according to one royal expert, the book could “heavily” feature his stepmother, Camilla Parker Bowles.
Prince Harry will likely release his memoir in the fall of 2022
In July 2021, the Sussexes’ charity organization, Archewell, released a statement about Harry’s upcoming memoir.
“For the very first time, Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex will share the definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him,” the message read. “His intimate and heartfelt memoir will cover his lifetime in the public eye from childhood to the present day, including his dedication to service, the military duty that twice took him to the frontlines of Afghanistan and the joy he has found in being a husband and father.”
Harry also shared that he hopes the memoir will help readers see “that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.”
Prince Harry could talk a lot about Camilla Parker Bowles, royal expert says
Many people have since speculated about what Harry might talk about in the memoir. According to royal expert Neil Sean, Harry could have a lot of things to say about his father’s second wife, Camilla.
“According to insiders, this is the problem that Camilla now faces because she knows that she will feature allegedly heavily within Prince Harry’s book,” Sean said in a YouTube video. “After all, she plays a rather large part in his formative years.”
However, according to Sean, the Duchess of Cornwall is not very worried about how Harry’s book will affect her.
“What she’s told very good sources is this: She’s not concerned about the way she’s portrayed,” Sean said. “After all, she’s possibly one of the most maligned people in the British press, quite simply, being run to the ground by the media. She’s risen above that and done sterling work with her charities—the domestic abuse charities—all sorts of things like that. She really has tried her best to turn her life around.”
Sean reported that, if anything, Camilla is more worried about whether the book will hurt Charles.
Back in September 2021, Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell, also predicted that Harry’s memoir could unveil some of Camilla’s “secrets.”
Prince William could be hurt the most by the memoir, another expert predicted
Other royal experts have commented on Harry’s memoir. According to biographer Angela Levin, Harry’s brother, Prince William, will be hurt the most.
“William is the one who will come out of this the worst of all,” Levin said in July 2021, according to Express. “There is the row between William and Harry, and basically if Harry says things that are inappropriate about the monarchy, that is William’s future. It is not Harry’s future, he is out of it now, but it is William’s future.”
