Prince William Already Has a Plan in Place of How to Handle Prince Harry and Meghan When He’s King
There will come a time when Prince William becomes Britain’s monarch and when that day comes, it will bring about changes for some members of the family including William’s estranged brother and sister-in-law.
While it’s been reported that King Charles has been open to reconciling with Prince Harry, the same can’t be said for Prince William. Those close to the Prince of Wales actually pointed to the opposite, insisting that William is completely done with his younger brother after everything the duke put their family through.
Some thought that when the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) publicly announced her cancer diagnosis, that would have brought the Waleses and Sussexes closer together. But it’s done no such thing. In fact, William and Kate’s friends have said that Meghan, Harry, and all their drama is the last thing the prince and princess have been thinking about over the last several months. And William is reportedly already making plans to keep the Sussexes on the other side of the pond and as far away from the Palace as possible once he’s the monarch.
Prince William’s ‘swift’ and ‘final’ plan for Harry and Meghan once he’s the monarch
Sources have spoken to OK Magazine about just how different things will be when William is the king and one way is that unlike his father, the Prince of Wales plans to cut all ties with the duke and duchess for good.
“The feeling is that allowing the Sussexes back into the fold is a bad move, and they should be resigned to the fringes indefinitely,” one source told the publication about Prince William’s approach for the throne.
Prince William’s decision was “swift” and “final” in how he wants to tackle relations with the Montecito pair in the future, and he feels it’s better that relations are non-existent. A source also hinted that Prince William may even issue a “Letters Patent when king that strips the entire of their HRH styles.” However, he would only be able to send a request to parliament which would then rule on whether or not to remove them.
The insider added that when William does ascend the throne, Meghan and Harry should “expect no invitations of any kind across the pond like we see the current king do.”
Would Prince William allow the Sussexes to attend his coronation?
Speaking of invites, reports have circulated over the last few weeks suggesting that William wouldn’t invite Harry and Meghan to his coronation. But royal author Christopher Andersen isn’t buying that.
“Despite all the bad blood between the brothers, I’m convinced that, when the time does come, William will not be foolish enough to exclude his only sibling, now fifth in line to the throne, from his coronation,” Andersen said.
While no one can predict exactly what Prince William will do at that time, given the royal family’s track record it’s more than likely that an invite would be extended to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. That way, the new king would look like the bigger person and it would all be put on Meghan and Harry if they were to decline.
