Prince William and Kate Middleton are the future king and queen. The two have been together since college, and after tying the knot in 2011, they welcomed three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

William and Kate have always been adamant about putting their kids first and doing their best to give their children normal lives. Now, William has recently doubled down on that, essentially saying that one thing is a “priority” now for his kids above anything else.

Prince William is putting his kids’ education above anything else

When William and Kate started a family, they knew they wanted to raise their children as normally as possible. Kate was not raised in a royal environment, and she and her siblings are still so close to this day. As the kids got older, William and Kate ultimately decided to relocate from Kensington Palace to Adelaide Cottage, where they could give their kids a more private life.

William recently said that one thing comes above any royal duties: his kids’ education. “Family-wise, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer because obviously they’re at school and I think that takes priority over everything else,” William said when asked by South African media when his children would start attending more royal engagements, per Hello! Magazine. However, he did have a bit of good news: He and Kate will hopefully be planning some international trips in 2025. “But I think hopefully Catherine will be doing a bit more next year, so we’ll have some more trips maybe lined up,” William said.

As William and Kate’s kids have grown up, the Wales couple has made sure to let the kids maintain as much normalcy in their school lives as possible. The kids attend school with other children, play sports, and do extracurricular activities, which allow them to integrate as normally as they can.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s kids will eventually spend more time in the spotlight

Of course, it’s expected that William and Kate’s kids will start making more royal appearances as they age. For now, though, being in school makes it fairly difficult for them to attend any royal engagements during school hours.

Occasionally, the royal children are spotted with William and Kate — especially during weekend events or more laid-back appearances, such as sporting events. As the kids grow older, they’ll become more familiar with the spotlight, but for now, William and Kate would rather have them focus on school.
