After a regal appearance at the Together at Christmas concert, Prince William and Kate Middleton appeared ready to become the United Kingdom’s king and queen. The couple attended the event alongside Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, marking their first public appearance as a family since Kate announced she finished chemotherapy treatment in September.

Kate Middleton and Prince William seamlessly stepped into royal roles for Christmas celebration

Kate Middleton and Prince William appeared ready for 2025 as the couple stepped into their royal roles for the annual Together at Christmas concert. The past year has been challenging for the couple; they fought together against Kate’s cancer and simultaneously faced King Charles’s cancer diagnosis.

The service celebrated individuals across the United Kingdom who have shown extraordinary kindness and compassion in their communities. The event took place at Westminster Abbey in London on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024.

The family was dressed in shades of crimson to honor the season. Kate and Princess Charlotte wore long red coats while William, Prince George, and Prince Louis wore dark suits with red ties. Ahead of the service, Kate revealed that she wrote letters to all attendees.

“Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year,” Kate wrote in a letter. “It is a time for celebration and joy. But it also gives us the opportunity to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all. It is when we stop and take ourselves away from the pressures of daily life, that we find the space to live our lives with an open heart, with love, kindness, and forgiveness — so much of what the Christmas spirit is all about.”

The princess concluded, “Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times. We all have something we can offer one another. Gentle words or a receptive ear, an arm around an exhausted shoulder, or silently being by someone’s side.”

Royal watchers applauded the couple for ‘Together at Christmas’ appearance

In an Instagram post where the royal couple were seen alongside their children at the service, royal watchers commended Kate Middleton and Prince William. They saw something in the family that gave them hope for the monarchy’s future.

“Such a lovely family. So nice to see them all together for the festive carol service,” wrote one Instagram user. “The Princess of Wales is an epitome of dignity and beauty. Catherine is the jewel in the RF’s crown.”

A second penned, “The cool royals enchant people and bring a gift of magic, emotions, and health to people. That is the magic of William and his family.”

“I love seeing them together, such a beautiful and sweet family. Catherine looks gorgeous and always impeccable in relation to other people. That’s why she is so much loved,” wrote a third social media user.

“He will make a good king and she, a wonderful queen,” declared a fourth follower.

King Charles’ Health Reportedly Takes a Turn After Kate Middleton, Prince William Christmas Plans Revealed

In a video shared by British broadcast station Channel 5 News on X, Kate talked about her challenging year to singer Paloma Faith. “This year has been full of surprises,” Kate answered.

“The unplanned,” Faith added. Kate nodded and repeated, “The unplanned, exactly.”

“But I know I’m not alone. So many people have faced their own challenges this year,” Kate concluded.

Kate Middleton was diagnosed with cancer in early 2024. In March, she shared a video where she discussed her diagnosis and revealed she was receiving treatment.

Kate shared a second message in June on Instagram, where wrote, “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”

Finally, in September, Kate shared she had finally completed her chemotherapy treatment. The Princess of Wales has not shared any further details regarding her health since that social media post.

Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with their children, will spend the holidays at Sandringham and with Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton.
