Prince William Has ‘No Interest’ In Repairing the Royal Feud, Friend Claims: ‘There Isn’t Space’
Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, have not had a great relationship in recent years. The brothers reportedly don’t speak, and it’s led to ongoing frustrations between all of the royals. Harry doesn’t have a great relationship with his father, King Charles, either, but the two do still communicate.
Now, despite a happy birthday wish publicly from both Charles and William, a friend close to William’s says the heir to the throne has “no interest” in repairing things with his younger brother.
Prince William reportedly doesn’t have ‘space’ to repair the feud with Prince Harry
William and Harry were close growing up, but cracks started to show once Harry began dating Meghan Markle and showed a little independence from the royals. It quickly caused tension between him and William — and Harry has made some startling accusations about his brother, including that William’s team sold negative stories to the press about Harry and Meghan, and that William physically attacked him.
But recently, William allowed a public birthday wish for Harry to be shared to his social media account, suggesting the two could soon reconcile. However, one friend close to William’s says that isn’t going to happen right now.
“The honest truth is that William has no interest right now in reaching out to Harry and Meghan,” an alleged friend of the William’s told The Daily Beast. “He regards what Harry said in his book as unforgivable and, understandably given Catherine’s cancer diagnosis, just wants to focus on his wife and family first and his job second.”
The source continued, “There isn’t space for a complicated reconciliation process with Harry. It’s not a priority.” That good news, though, is that this doesn’t mean there will never be space; it just means there isn’t right now.
The royal family’s birthday wishes must mean something, right?
There are mixed opinions on what the royal family’s decision to send birthday wishes really means. Even if it was a small gesture, it was still a greater step than what the royals took on Harry’s past two birthdays. The family has not publicly sent Harry a birthday message since 2021, so although this doesn’t exactly mean the rift is healed, there had to have been some level of kindness in order for the royals to decide this was the move they wanted to make.
Harry and his family still remain at odds, but people will take any sign they can that things might eventually heal. And to many, this was a sign that there could be some kind of reconciliation down the road.
