Father of three Prince William, Duke of Cambridge has been a dad since 2013. He and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge first became parents when their oldest son, Prince George, arrived on the scene. Ahead of the young royal’s birthday in July, we’re looking back at some of the sweetest moments he and William have shared.
Kate Middleton and Prince William become parents for the first time
Catherine gave birth to Prince George of Cambridge on July 22, 2013, inside the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital. Upon his birth, George became third in the royal family’s line of succession behind Charles and William.
Following his arrival, the new parents followed in the royal tradition started by William’s parents’ Princess Diana and Prince Charles by introducing the world to George on the steps of the Lindo Wing. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were all smiles as they showed off their newborn.
Butterflies for Prince George’s birthday
Marking George’s first birthday in 2014, Kensington Palace released an adorable photo of the Cambridge family. The trio visited London’s Natural History Museum where they explored an exhibit all about butterflies. Photographers captured a sweet moment between the family where William showed George a butterfly that had landed on his hand.

Prince William takes Prince George to meet Princess Charlotte
George became a big brother when Catherine and William welcomed Princess Charlotte of Cambridge on May 2, 2015. Arriving at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital with George, William took his son to meet his new sibling.
As they entered the hospital, William and George waved to crowds of well-wishers.
William upped the cute factor when he planted a kiss on George’s cheek outside the hospital.

Prince George at Prince William have fun at a party
In 2016, George and Charlotte accompanied their parents on a royal tour of Canada. Between the more formal events on the royals’ schedule, William and Catherine did leave time for their kids to be well, kids. The family of four got to have some fun at a children’s party for military families. There were plenty of sweet moments captured between William and his son.
Between playing with balloons and blowing bubbles, the Duke of Cambridge couldn’t help but smile at George. It’s clear from William’s big grin he really enjoyed taking part in some activities with George and Charlotte.
And the smile continues!
Last but certainly not least, on George’s first day of school at Thomas’s Battersea William showed up holding his son’s hand. So sweet!
