How Prince William Showed That the Monarchy Is ‘at Its Strongest’ Now Without Kate
Prince William, King Charles, and Queen Camilla (formerly known as Camilla Parker Bowles) traveled to France for ceremonies commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
William’s wife, the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton), did not attend the events as she continues to undergo preventative chemotherapy. While many royal watchers have opined that the family is in a fragile state without their “greatest asset” and one of the most popular members of the Firm, an expert is pointing out how Prince William showed the monarchy is still strong even in Kate’s absence.
King Charles and Queen Camilla wiped away tears before monarch’s heartfelt speech
Prince William and King Charles gave speeches at the events which paid tribute to the soldiers who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. The king and queen were both seen wiping away tears during the ceremony before the monarch delivered his speech.

Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, Stanton noted that when giving his speech “King Charles came across as very powerful. He had all the control and showed a lot of self-belief and a drive to do his best. When he was delivering his speech, it was a controlled delivery and he was very at ease. He had Queen Camilla by his side, and together they showed a lot of strength and solidarity.
“We also saw a very solemn side to Queen Camilla. Camilla normally places her hands by her side and is known for carrying herself with a lot of dominance while carrying out her duties. When we saw her standing by Charles, we saw a submissive side to the queen — she wanted to show respect to this occasion. She wanted to make herself look smaller and place herself away from the attention. Camilla was also seen with tears in her eyes, telling us she was moved and emotionally affected during their outing.”
Prince William was ‘authentic’ with emotions and showed how monarchy is ‘at its strongest’
While Kate has been referred to as the royal family’s strongest asset Stanton said that William, along with his father and stepmother, wanted to convey the message that the monarchy as a whole is strongest when they come together as a team.
The expert explained: “Looking at William’s appearance, he held a strong posture with his shoulders back and spoke from the heart and portrayed a lot of confidence. It’s clear this engagement meant a lot to him as he came across as compassionate, gentle, and completely authentic.
“He believed every word he said and didn’t show any sign of nervousness. It’s clear that William, Charles, and Camilla all wanted to show the nation that the monarchy was at its strongest by coming together as a team.”
