Following her abdominal surgery in January and time away from the spotlight, wild conspiracies about the Princess of Wales’ (formerly known as Kate Middleton) health and whereabouts flooded the internet and became the main topic on news and talk shows. In order to put an end to the mindless chatter, the princess released a video message revealing to the world her cancer diagnosis and that she was undergoing treatment.

In the video, Kate explained: “Tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy … My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now, I must focus on making a full recovery.”

Since then, well wishes for the princess have poured in from all over the world and Prince William has been asked about how his wife is doing whenever he is out at royal engagements. However, one royal expert believes the Prince of Wales’ answers may be sounding alarm bells now.

Prince William’s updates on his wife’s health are vague

During his last few outings when asked about the Princess of Wales’ health, William has had the same answer saying that Kate is “doing well” and “getting better.” But according to royal editor Tim Ewart, the prince’s vague answers may be setting off alarm bells rather than reassuring everyone that the princess is on the mend.

Ewart spoke to Sky News Australia about how the future king’s responses could be sparking fresh health concerns about Kate’s health, telling the outlet: “It’s not the first time that William has said this, to be fair, he’s made this comment on a couple of previous public appearances. But that, without in any way dampening down optimism about this, that is all we have heard. There have been no formal medical bulletins, and we still don’t know what form of cancer Kate has, or especially what treatment she is receiving.”

Ewart noted that Kate missed the Colonel’s Review, a rehearsal for Trooping the Colour, and questioned if she will make an appearance during King Charles’ birthday parade on June 15.

“We’re hoping that she’ll be on the balcony at Buckingham Palace,” Ewart said. He added that there will be a lot of interest from the public focused on how she looks if she does attend, opining: “I think it is fair to say people are still quite concerned about her health.”

The princess apologized for not being able to make the Colonel’s Review on June 8 and her message offers hope that she may attend King Charles’ birthday parade.

“I wanted to write to you to let you know how proud I am of the entire regiment ahead of the Colonel’s Review and Trooping the Colour,” Kate wrote. “I appreciate everyone at Trooping the Colour this year has been practicing for months and dedicating many hours to ensure their uniforms and drill are immaculate. Being your colonel remains an honor and I am very sorry that I’m unable to make the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review.

“Please pass on my apologies to the whole regiment. I do hope that I’m able to represent you all once again very soon. Please send my very best wishes and good luck to all involved.”

The words “very soon” have many royal watchers hoping that Kate will appear at the Trooping the Colour parade in some fashion, either in the carriage procession or on the Buckingham Palace balcony. So far, the Palace has been tight-lipped about whether or not that will happen.
