Princess Beatrice gave birth to daughter Athena on Jan. 22, 2025

On Jan. 29, 2025, Buckingham Palace announced Beatrice and her husband had become parents for the second time. In their statement, the palace revealed Beatrice gave birth to Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi on Jan. 22, 2025, at 12:57 p.m. at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, England. The baby weighed 4 pounds, 5 ounces.

Athena’s arrival came early with the palace initially announcing Beatrice’s due date as early spring. However, Athena and Beatrice are said to be “healthy and doing well,” per the royal family’s announcement on X. Athena joins big sister Sienna, 3, and stepbrother Christopher Woolf, who is known as “Wolfie.”

Currently, “the family are enjoying spending time together with Athena’s older siblings, Wolfie and Sienna.” As for how other British royals reacted to the baby news, King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and other relatives were said to be “delighted.”

The announcement included a photo of Athena—taken by her dad—snuggled up in a pink blanket and wearing a white onesie.
