Princess Charlotte Loves Telling Everyone She’s 16
Princess Charlotte has been an icon since birth. While most children tend to be shy and reserved, especially with the paparazzi photographing them, the princess has always taken her visibility in stride.
Like most children, she’s not afraid to tell people exactly how she feels. She’s been known to stick her tongue out during events, wave whenever she feels like it, and she once told the paparazzi that they could not come to her younger brother, Prince Louis‘ christening.
The princess recently turned six, and in addition to sharing some details about her big day, her father, Prince William, also revealed that his daughter has been enjoying telling people she’s 16.
Princess Charlotte is extremely outgoing
As the middle child and the only girl in the Cambridge clan, Princess Charlotte has no issue making her presence known. Since she was only a toddler, waving at royal fans and even sticking her tongue out to onlookers, the princess has never been afraid to express herself.
“She’s definitely the biggest character of the three children at the moment,” a source told Us Weekly in 2018. “She’ll come up to guests and ask them if they want tea or coffee or offer them sweets—so adorable!”
Queen Elizabeth II has also remarked on her great-granddaughter’s personality; she once told a royal fan that Princess Charlotte looks after Prince George.
“The queen was implying that Charlotte keeps an eye out for George rather than the other way around,” the man explained via Town & Country. It is often the case that a younger child is more confident. It is the second child syndrome.”
Princess Charlotte just celebrated her sixth birthday
Princess Charlotte celebrated her sixth birthday on May 3, 2021, and because restrictions from COVID-19 have been lifted a bit in the U.K., the little princess was able to have a small party.
“She had a lovely day, thank you,” Prince William revealed during an official visit to Babcock Vehicle Engineering, according to Hello! “Last year it was her birthday in lockdown, but this year we were able to have one other family over. They grow up very fast. It was great fun.”
Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, shared a brand new photo of the princess for her special day. In the photo she is grinning into the camera and wearing and pink and blue dress made by childrenswear designer Rachel Riley.

It appears that Princess Charlotte’s personality has only gotten bigger as she’s gotten older. In addition to sharing some small details about her party, Prince William also shared a hilarious tidbit about his only daughter.
“She’s 6, yeah,” he said. “If you ask her, she says she’s 16.” He added that she’s very serious about her new big age. “Charlotte says, ‘I’m 6 now, I’ll do what I want.’ It’s like, they grow up really fast.”
It looks like Princess Charlotte won’t have any qualms about standing up for herself in the face of anyone who tries to come for her.
