Princess Charlotte’s Interesting Reaction to King Charles Letting Prince Louis Sit on His Lap Goes Viral
During the late Queen Elizabeth‘s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022 was the first time royal fans really got to see Prince Louis‘ big personality.
Prince William and the Princess of Wales’ (formerly known as Kate Middleton) youngest son really stole the show as his antics became a highlight reel delighting royal watchers everywhere. However, his mother didn’t look too thrilled with his rowdy behavior, and neither did his sister Princess Charlotte. After trying to contain the little prince to no avail, Louis decided to leave them for a bit and go hang out with his grandpa King Charles.
Now, a video has gone viral showing how Charlotte reacted the moment Prince Louis rushed away from her and over to their grandfather.
Princess Charlotte got upset when Prince Louis kept acting up
Prince Louis gave fans so many viral moments during the Platinum Jubilee weekend from his Olympic waving to casually chatting with the queen on the balcony to covering his ears during the flyover. But he really let it all out at the Platinum Pageant.
Cameras captured Louis pulling faces at his mom, jumping up, shouting, dancing about wildly, and standing up in his seat cheering and making gestures in the air. At one point he even put his hand over his mother’s mouth when she tried to correct him.
Louis’ shenanigans became too much for Charlotte as she was seen trying to help Kate get him under control. When that didn’t work, video footage showed Charlotte scolding her little brother to calm down. At one point though, they got a little break when Louis decided he wanted to change his seat and asked to go sit on his grandfather’s knee. Charlotte then reacted with her gesture letting King Charles know how relieved she was.

Clips of Princess Charlotte’s reaction after the king allows Louis to hang out with him for a while and sit on his lap have been shared on YouTube and TikTok, with the latter garnering more than 5 million views and counting. As the 12-second clip shows, after the monarch says “of course” when asked if Louis can sit with him, Charlotte gives their grandfather two thumbs up.
“Awww Charlotte is saying Thanks grandpa, I need a wee break from Louis,” one person wrote.
“She was pleased to get rid of him for a bit,” another added.
A third said: “She’s SUCH an older sister. I love it”
And a fourth person posted: “Imagine giving the king a thumbs up! She’s all ‘good job Gramps!’”
Other commenters pointed out that Kate looked relieved as well writing, “Kate is like thank gawd” and “Catherine was gonna get ready to yeet him off the balcony so grandpa it was. And Louie loved sitting on his lap. It was great.”
