Princess Diana Would Have Been ‘Greatly Concerned’ For Prince Harry, Insider Says
Princess Diana’s untimely death has been a shadow hanging over her children for their entire lives. Obviously, the loss of one’s mother at such a tender age is going to have a personal impact, but the young princes also had to deal with media scrutiny over their reactions and state of mind. Prince Harry, in particular, has been analyzed through a lens that includes not only his mother’s death but also the tragic parts of her life.
Many see Harry’s move away from royal life as firmly rooted in the way his mother was treated both by the press and members of the royal family. Many have reported that he has simmering anger over the factors that led up to her death and that he is determined to keep his own growing family from suffering in the same ways.
Harry insists his mother would be proud of him for taking the steps he needs to keep his family safe, but an insider suggests that isn’t the case.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is often unfairly vilified as the driving force behind the changes in Harry and his distancing from royal life, but recent months have made it clear that the prince has plenty of criticizing thoughts of his own. When Harry and Meghan gave their infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey, it was Harry who made the boldest and most damaging claims against the royal family.
Likewise, Harry has continued to poke the bear, so to speak, on the five-part series The Me You Can’t See, in which he opens up about a whole host of childhood traumas and suggests that the decision to step down from royal duties was not sparked by his wife, but by a long-harbored resentment for not getting the mental health help he needed during his younger years.
While these moves may have shocked the world, Harry insists the late Princess Diana would approve. As BestLife reports, Harry said, “I have no doubt my mum would be incredibly proud of me. I’m living the life that she wanted to live for herself, living the life that she wanted us to be able to live.”
Royal insider suggests Princess Diana would be distressed with Prince Harry’s choices
Of course, no one can predict what Diana would or would not have said with certainty since she is not here to speak for herself. However, Harry’s appearances have brought forward critics who question his claims. One royal insider has made it clear that Princess Diana would have been “greatly concerned” about some of Prince Harry’s recent moves.
“Diana would have encouraged Harry to champion the humanitarian causes he cared about. She would be proud to see him take on the issue of mental health, but she would have wanted him to be seen as more of an advocate and less of a victim,” the insider claimed. The royal family as a whole is intensely private, and the source went on to say that Princess Diana “would have been very disappointed to see so much of Harry’s campaign for mental health revolve around him and his issues with the Royal Family, revealing so much of his personal story.”

It’s worth noting that without knowing the insider’s identity, we can’t possibly know what motives for speaking out are informing this particular take on Diana’s hypothetical disapproval of Harry’s decisions. It’s also highly speculative to assume the thoughts of someone who isn’t around.
What we do know for sure, however, is that both Harry and Meghan seem to be settling into this new life they have chosen. They have recently welcomed a baby girl and named her Lilibet Diana, a nod to both the Queen and her own late grandmother, Diana.
As Harry steps into a new role and continues to be in the spotlight, it does appear that he is less playing the victim and more building the life that he wants for himself and his family — likely in a way he feels would make his mother proud.
