Priyanka Chopra Says Husband Nick Jonas Reminds Her of Her Father
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married in late 2018 after a short period of dating. Although the two of them seemed like an unlikely pairing at first, fans have since fallen in love with the couple and become obsessed with their cute love story.
Perhaps Chopra and Jonas are able to make their relationship work because there are qualities that they admire in each other. In fact, Chopra recently shared that part of the reason why she enjoys being around Jonas is that he reminds her of her father.

Chopra’s father is Ashok Chopra, who was a doctor in the Indian army along with his wife. Because of her parents’ jobs, Chopra ended up moving around a lot as a kid, and she has lived in many places around India.
Unfortunately, her father passed away in 2013 after battling cancer for several years.
On one of his death anniversaries, Chopra posted a video commemorating him. In it, she said: “My dad was my best friend, my idol and my protector. He was the man of my life. I was very close to my father, he was my superhero, my idol. I wanted to grow up and be him. He was a musician, he used to perform on stage, he was a surgeon, he was an artist, he was the life of a party, gregarious laughter, extremely confident man.”
Chopra even got a tattoo that says “Daddy’s lil girl” as a tribute to her relationship with her late father.
Why does Priyanka Chopra think that Nick Jonas reminds her of her father?
In a recent interview with Diane von Furstenberg on the podcast InCharge with DVF, Chopra revealed that she sees a lot of her father in Jonas.
“They always say that girls end up marrying someone who’s like your father, and Nick is,” the actress said. “He’s someone who’s the life of a party. He’ll always have friends around him, he’ll make people laugh, super thoughtful, conscientious, kind. I do feel like I ended up marrying a version of my dad.”
Research has shown that all around the world, both men and women often do end up choosing partners who remind them of their opposite-sex parent. There is no clear reason behind this phenomenon, though some researchers believe that people generally just gravitate toward those who seem familiar to them in some ways.

Chopra and Jonas have been married for a little over a year now, and a source told Hollywood Life that they are “still in the honeymoon phase when everyone sees them together.”
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, Chopra and Jonas have been staying home together a lot. The insider shared that this is helping them bond while also giving Jonas time to recharge before getting back to his career with his brothers.

Jonas’ oldest brother, Kevin, already has two children. Meanwhile, their second-oldest brother, Joe, is expecting a child with his wife, Sophie Turner. As such, many fans are no doubt wondering whether Chopra and Jonas will be going down the parenthood path anytime soon.
From the beginning both Chopra and Jonas have said that they definitely do want to start a family together in the future. Last year, Chopra shared that she would like to have kids within “the next 10 years.” In another interview, she also said that “buying a home and having a baby are on my to-do list.”
For now, both Chopra and Jonas are quite busy with their careers, so it might be a while before we hear of a pregnancy announcement from the couple.
