Queen Camilla Had 3 Words for King Charles Before She Ushered Him Off the Balcony
After some uncertainty, King Charles and the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton)Β were both able to attend the 2024 Trooping the Colour. The monarch and his daughter-in-law looked to be in good spirits as they smiled and waved to the crowds below from the balcony of Buckingham Palace before the flypast.
However, some royal watchers noted that Queen Camilla (formerly Camilla Parker Bowles) looked a bit βconcernedβ and βeagerβ to go back inside the moment the celebrations concluded. Now, there are reports of what the queen was worried about and what she told her husband before ushering him off the balcony.
What Queen Camilla told her husband before they walked off the balcony
According to Hello!, Camillaβs reason for wanting to get the king back inside as soon as she could is because of his health and the torrential rain he endured while standing on a podium saluting the Guardsmen outside of the Palace.
During an episode of A Right Royal Podcast, photographer James Whatling said: βIt must get a little bit uncomfortable after a while. Thatβs duty, isnβt it? That really is duty, as someone whoβs still undergoing treatment, I believe, to stand there in that, is ridiculous, and it kind of shows the character of the king.β
Royal editor Emily NashΒ added: βHe spent a long time on a podium outside the palace during an incredible downpour, taking the salute from the returning Guardsmen.β
Immediately following the flypast, video footage captured Queen Camilla telling King Charles, βYou did well,β to which he replied, βThank you.β
King Charles receives some disappointing news
Since his birthday celebration, King Charles has been out and about every day attending royal events, leaving some to forget that he is still undergoing weekly treatment for cancer. Well, now heβs being forced to scale back part of his future commitments amid fears heβs taking in too many things.
The Mirror reported that under doctorβs orders, the monarch has been told to scale back his upcoming trip to Australia and Somoa and cancel his trip to New Zealand altogether because he is doing too much.
A source told the publication: βNaturally, it will be a bitter disappointment on both sides to not have the opportunity for the king and queen to visit New Zealand, but of course all are aware of the kingβs ongoing health and the need for him to pace himself.Β Itβs very much hoped there will be further opportunities in the future.β
Over the years, King Charles has visited Australia 15 times. His next visit Down Under, which will be his first since becoming the monarch, is scheduled for October. His full itinerary has not been finalized at this time, but a proposed royal itinerary includes a stop in Brisbane before heading to the Gold Coast and then north to Cairns.
