Queen Elizabeth II Banned Kim Kardashian West From a London Hotel
Though they are two of the most famous people on the plant, no one thinks of Kim Kardashian West when they think about Queen Elizabeth II. Both women have lived their lives in the spotlight for a very long time, but for very different reasons.
While the queen was thrust into the spotlight because of family circumstances and her father’s death, Kardashian West plotted her way to fame. The reality star has openly said that she used to be obsessed with fame and money, and she did everything in her power to achieve success.
The women might have more in common, then one might think. However, it appears that the queen thinks of Kardashian West as a public nuisance. In fact, a couple of years ago, the queen had the KKW Beauty mogul banned from a certain London hotel.
The British royal family has a lot in common with the Kardashians
The royals live their life with an air of respectability. In contrast, the Kardashians are infamous for their sometimes trashy behavior and for sharing every single aspect of their lives with the world. However, the families have much more in common then you would expect.
Kardashian West and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex both share a close friend in tennis icon, Serena Williams. Also, all of the royal children and the KarJenner babies just so happen to be born around the same time. Prince George and North West were born in 2013, and Saint West and Princess Charlotte were born in 2015. Also, Chicago West, Prince Louis, Stormi Webster, and True Thompson were all born in 2018.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Meghan also adore some of the same designers as the KarJenners.
Kim Kardashian West understands the royal family’s lack of privacy
While their approaches to fame might be wildly different, Kardashian West can certainly empathize with the royal family’s lack of privacy. The Skims founder especially seems to understand why the Sussexes left the royal fold.
“I don’t think anyone can really understand what that’s like except for them, but I think as I’m older and as I have kids and what I would want for them is just the safest place,” she revealed on The Sunday Project. “I can definitely empathize with their need for having a secure, safe place and taking time for themselves and having privacy when they need it.”
Though Kardashian West appreciates her platform, she also revealed that she sometimes yearns for more privacy.
Queen Elizabeth II banned Kim Kardashian West from a London hotel
Though the mother-of-four seems to like and respect the royals, the feeling might not be mutual. In fact, Queen Elizabeth once banned her from a London hotel.
Back in 2012 on Season 7, Episode 10 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians titled, “The Royal Treatment” the KarJenners visited London. In one particular scene, Scott Disick visits Rob Kardashian in his hotel room. “I thought we were staying at The Dorchester… why are we staying here?” he asked. Kardashian responded, “Because The Queen is staying at The Dorchester and she doesn’t want Kim there.”
It seems that the queen had no desire to deal with the hoopla and paparazzi that surround the KarJenners. Later in the episode, Disick explained,
Initially we were going to be staying at The Dorchester but evidently The Queen happened to just wanna shut it down. It’s pretty impressive that one woman could shut down a whole hotel, just because she wants to be there.
