Queen Elizabeth II Eats This Unhealthy Food Every Single Day
Queen Elizabeth II has been Britain’s monarch for more than 60 years and is still working and in good health even in her 90s. With no signs of slowing down anytime soon, people have become interested in her daily habits and continue to ask what’s her secret to a long life. Well for anyone who believes that it’s all about a healthy diet, what the queen eats every day will definitely surprise you.
Here’s the one food she eats on a daily basis and a few foods her personal chefs know not to even try serving her.
What food Her Majesty eats every day
The thing that the queen must have every day is not some healthy snack or herbs, nope it’s actually chocolate cake.
Darren McGrady, who was Queen Elizabeth’s chef for a number of years, revealed that the royal family matriarch’s favorite dessert is chocolate biscuit cake. According to McGrady, a selection of cakes are made daily for Her Majesty and after she takes a slice. the staff can split the leftovers. However, that’s not the case with the chocolate biscuit cake and she would know if one slice was missing.
“The Chocolate Biscuit Cake is the only cake that goes back again and again and again every day until it’s all gone,” he said. “She’ll take a small slice every day until eventually there is only one tiny piece, but you have to send that up, she wants to finish the whole of that cake.”
McGrady added that even when the queen travels, the leftover cake goes with her.
If she were “traveling to Windsor Castle and there was chocolate biscuit cake left over, the senior chef would follow on a train with the cake in tow,” he explained.
What foods she never eats
Her Majesty is not only particular about her cake, McGrady shared what foods she absolutely refuses to eat and the kitchen staff knows not to serve her.
Garlic is a big no-no for every royal. The rule is believed to be in place to prevent them from having bad breath when they meet and greet their visitors or members of the public. Queen Elizabeth does not eat starches either so that means no potatoes or pasta. The only time you’d ever catch these on her plate would be for a special dinner party.
She and her family are big fans of fresh fruit but only when they are in season.
“You can send strawberries every day to the queen during summer at Balmoral and she’ll never say a word,” McGrady explained.“Try including strawberries on the menu in January and she’ll scrub out the line and say don’t dare send me genetically modified strawberries.”
And of course, there is a royal way of cooking meals for the queen that everyone who works in the palace kitchen must learn. McGrady noted that she likes her meat well done and her chefs always make sure the ends of a roast are cooked perfectly for her since that is the part she always goes for first.
The queen obviously likes what she likes and since she is the world’s longest-reigning monarch she can eat whatever she wants and how she wants it.
