After Marcus kisses Robyn in Season 4, Episode 9, the former CIA operative and NYPD detective face a crossroads in their relationship. Captain Watkins offers Marcus a transfer to California to join a Federal Task Force targeting child predators. The promotion has strings attached; if he turns it down, Marcus must spend the rest of his career doing deskwork. Robyn wants him to stay in NYC but hesitates to make her feelings known. Fans of The Equalizer were thrilled to hear that CBS renewed the drama for Season 5. However, they feared the demise of Robyn and Marcus’s relationship. Kittles has long stated that he’s returning for Season 5. The 49-year-old told Screen Rant details:

“We’re finally going to confront that,” the actor explained. “And I can’t tell you what’s going to happen. But I can tell you that it’s going to be very revealing for both of them. But they both are going to have to take leaps of faith, and they’re going to have to make big, big choices about their futures.”

Now, fans have another clue. Cameras spotted Latifah and Kittles filming Season 5 in a residential neighborhood in Queens, New York. As production surrounded the pair, they laughed and joked with coffee in their hands. As filming commenced, Latifah and Kittles talked intensely in front of the NYC skyline before leaning in for a steamy kiss.

Latifah was seen walking away with a big smile on her face, causing fans to wonder if Marcus decided to stay in NYC and be with Robyn at the cost of his career.

In real life, Queen Latifah has always been private about her romantic status. However, she has been in a long-term relationship with choreographer Eboni Nichols. The couple reportedly met on the set of Dancing With the Stars in 2009, although they didn’t begin dating until 2013. Sometime in 2019, the couple welcomed a son, Rebel.
