Quinta Brunson is best known for creating and starring in the hit sitcom Abbott Elementary, earning critical acclaim for her sharp humor, relatable storytelling, and commitment to highlighting diverse voices. After rising to fame through viral Instagram content, the talented comedian, writer, and actor is ready to take some fashion risks in Hollywood.
Quinta Brunson pivots to a pixie cut
Brunson debuted her pixie cut on September 13 at the Emmy Nominees celebration pre-awards ceremony. This year, the 34-year-old celebrated three Emmy nominations for Abbott Elementary, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Comedy Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. Brunson previously wore her long dark hair in high buns, blowouts, and loose waves. Fans loved the pivot to pixie. Among many supporters, Kerry Washington commented on Instagram, “It’s giving Josephine Baker Barbie.”
On October 8, Quinta Brunson stepped out in NYC to promote the fourth season of Abbott Elementary, which premiered on October 9. The multihyphenate wore one of her sexiest looks yet as she entered ABC’s studio. Before giving an interview on GMA alongside Abbott co-star Tyler James Williams, Brunson paused for paparazzi outside of the building.
Brunson’s look was giving ’90s cool meets The Matrix. The comedian wore a cream-colored ankle-length trench coat over a coordinating plaid mini dress. She walked in thigh-high, heeled boots with pointed toes and carried a cream tote with a braided chain strap. Brunson added square wire-framed sunglasses with Neo-esque dark lenses. She stuck to simple yellow-gold jewelry, including a lariat necklace, earrings, and rings.
Quinta Brunson teases season 4 of ‘Abbott Elementary’
In addition to GMA, Brunson visited other media outlets to spread the word about Abbott Elementary season 4. She wore a neon coat and garnet-colored striped dress with matching shoes to LIVE with Kelly and Mark. Throughout the morning, Brunson expressed her excitement about returning to a 22-episode season. She told GMA, “This show was built to have 22 episodes, so we have more room to tell stories. We have holiday episodes again, which is so exciting. And we have episodes that are just plain fun.”
Quinta Brunson also divulged how season 4’s crossover with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia came to be. “I met Rob [McElhenney], and we just got along so well. He’s also the star and creator of his show. We just started talking, like, ‘Why don’t we just do this one day?’ … It has been the most fantastic experience working with them. Not only in the writers’ room but on set. We had a ball with them. And I think it’s going to work better than people expect.”
