Bruce Willis is one of the biggest actors in the world. Audiences recognize him from a number of big blockbuster titles. It all started with his first film performance in The First Deadly Sin in 1980. However, Willis most recently earned himself an entire category at the Razzie Awards 2022, which honors the worst films of the year. The action star must have really got on someone’s nerves to get that accolade.

Willis brought the world Die Hard, Pulp Fiction, 12 Monkeys, The Sixth Sense, The Fifth Element, among many other big hits at the box office. He made such a name for himself that he further solidified his action hero status in The Expendables 2. More recently, Willis returned to working with M. Night Shyamalan in Glass after starring in Unbreakable.

According to The Numbers, Willis is ranked at no. 16 with over $5 billion at the worldwide box office as a result of his big leading roles over the years. However, he doesn’t track on the highest-grossing stars in 2021, as a result of starring in smaller projects. Samuel L. Jackson took home the prize of being the highest-grossing actor of 2021.

Bruce Willis earned a Razzie Awards 2022 category of his own

The Razzie Awards 2022 official website released this year’s nominees, including Willis’ own category. The special category nominates him for a whopping 8 nominations, which contains every one of his films to release over the course of the previous year.

Willis’ Razzie nominations include American Siege, Apex, Cosmic Sin, Deadlock, Fortress, Midnight in the Switchgrass, Out of Death, and Survive the Game. However, American Siege technically hit domestic theaters and on-demand services on Jan. 7.

Nonetheless, this doesn’t appear too far from critical reception, given the abysmal Rotten Tomatoes scores. They range from American Siege‘s 0% to Fortress‘ 20%. The audience scares are higher, although it’s clear that critics and the Razzie Awards 2022 aren’t enjoying this moment in Willis’ acting career.

Willis remains a busy actor beyond the Razzie Awards 2022. American Siege is his first title of the new year, although he still has several titles hitting screens over the next year or so. He currently has Gasoline Alley, A Day to Die, Vendetta, Fortress 2, The Wrong Place, Die Like Lovers, and Corrective Measures set to release in 2022.

Only time will tell which Willis performance wins at the Razzie Awards 2022. It’s possible that this specific category could repeat itself in the future for the actor, or another name releasing several movies next year. After all, the awards show also nominated Oscar winners and nominees with Jared Leto and Amy Adams.

The Razzie Awards 2022 will take place on the date of “Oscar Eve,” Saturday, March 26. Stay tuned to see what films take home this rotten honor.
