R&B Singer Victoria Monét Shows Off Her AMAZING 6-Pack Abs
On Thursday, June 27, R&B singer Victoria Monét accepted the esteemed Vanguard award at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. Monét, who recently picked up three wins at the Grammy Awards, has had a strong year following the release of her album Jaguar II. The ASCAP Vanguard Award celebrated her innovative work as an artist.
Monét arrived at the event wearing a sapphire dress that revealed much of her toned stomach. Matching tubing circled her left shoulder and her hips.
She accessorized the look with blue-tipped nails and shining diamond rings on both hands. Monét wore matching blue gloves that covered her wrists, thumbs, and index fingers. She also wore a bellybutton ring and sunburst earrings. She kept her hair sleek and simple in a low bun with side bangs.
Monét and Usher were the night’s big honorees, with Usher receiving the ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award. Lil Baby also picked up the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year award.
The Vanguard Award celebrated Monét’s “innovative work that is helping to shape the future of music, in addition to her most-performed song award for ‘On My Mama'” (per ASCAP).
“Victoria Monét has proven herself not only as an illuminating songwriter, but also as a flourishing artist and ASCAP member who continues to break barriers,” ASCAP Chairman of the Board and President Paul Williams said (per Yahoo!). “Her resilience, talent, and exemplary work ethic have helped her become a multi-award-winning singer and songwriter.”
In her speech, Monét praised her team for helping her achieve this honor.
“Although I do view myself as a leader… my brilliant team stands right beside me, never behind me,” she said, per Billboard. “We all have been on the very frontlines together on this road to success meticulously, converting every non-believer into a believer with hard work and consistency. We shoot, not eye level, but for the stars — and it truly takes a strong team to go from underdog to vanguard.”
2024 has been a momentous year for Monét. In the months before she took home the prestigious Vanguard award, she picked up many wins at award shows. Most notably, she won Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical at the Grammy Awards. Monét has been working as a songwriter for other artists for years, and has recently stepped into the spotlight in her own right.
Later this month, Monét will perform on the main stage at the BET Awards.
