NBC New York reported that Jen Shah had been arrested, facing federal charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering in connection with an alleged telemarketing scam. The Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss released a statement that read, in part, “Jennifer Shah, who portrays herself as a wealthy and successful businessperson on ‘reality’ television, and Stuart Smith, who is portrayed as Shah’s ‘first assistant,’ allegedly generated and sold ‘lead lists’ of innocent individuals for other members of their scheme to repeatedly scam.”
The NYPD stated that they have information leading them to believe that Shah allegedly scammed hundreds of victims and that the scheme has been in place for nearly a decade. If convicted, Shah could facing up to 30 years in prison. Most recently, Shah was spotted exiting Utah District Court, staying mum while reporters snapped photos of the stylish star, according to People.
