The Hulu miniseries details the turbulent relationship, marriage, and divorce between Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. The series centered its plotline around the period when a disgruntled employee leaked the couple’s infamous sex tape.
As the story goes, craftsman Rand Gauthier, who did renovations on Lee’s house, grew annoyed by the musician’s frequent demands later in the project. He also felt frustrated by the artist’s late payments for construction materials and work.
Once Gauthier finished the work on the home, Lee refused to pay him, referring to Gauthier’s work as shoddy. Lee fired Gauthier and his crew, but Gauthier forgot his toolbox in the drummer’s garage. When he returns to get it, Lee takes it at gunpoint, which causes Gauthier to seek revenge.
Gauthier and his crewmember return at night to steal a safe in Lee’s garage, but what they find ultimately alters the course of Anderson and Lee’s life. A private video of Anderson and Lee during their honeymoon was among the safe’s contents.
Gauthier sold the video online while porn director Uncle Miltie arranged for financing. Anderson reportedly found out about the sex tape leak while on the set of Baywatch. Although the couple’s story went quiet over the years, the Hulu show sparked a renewed interest in their relationship.

Anderson and Lee first met in 1994 on New Years’ Eve. The musician immediately found himself mesmerized by the actor and began pursuing her relentlessly, to the point of following her to Cancun in 1995.
The pair tied the knot impulsively four days after getting acquainted. They even got tattoos of each other’s names on their ring fingers. The media publicized their relationship, and the paparazzi kept a close eye on them.
Lee and Anderson, however, fought to stay together through it all.
The pair had two children, Brandon Thomas and Dylan Jagger, in 1996 and 1997. In 1998, things when Lee was arrested and charged with child and spousal abuse. According to the Los Angeles Times, Lee “attacked” Anderson, resulting in a “reddened” back and a “broken and bloody” fingernail. The actor filed for divorce hours after the incident.
