Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston have been friends for decades, and their work on The Morning Show proves they have an aligned vision of the art they want to create together moving forward. Unfortunately, while Witherspoon moved on from her second marriage and is officially dating Oliver Haarmann, Aniston remains out of luck regarding love. Here’s what an insider alleged regarding how Witherspoon thinks Aniston is in “desperate need of some romance” in her life.

Reese Witherspoon allegedly thinks Jennifer Aniston is in a romance ‘rut’

Jennifer Aniston hasn’t had much luck in love in recent years. She and Justin Theroux were together for six years and married for two before officially going their separate ways in 2018. Aniston hasn’t seriously dated since her romance with Theroux ended. A source alleged that her friend and Morning Show co-star, Reese Witherspoon, worries that the actor is in a dating “rut.”

“Reese spends a lot of time with Jen and knows firsthand the sort of rut she’s in, whether she wants to admit it or not,” a source told Life & Style.

The insider added that Witherspoon thinks Aniston is in “a state of paralysis” regarding her love life. “A lot of people assume that Jen is just biding her time, but as far as Reese is concerned, she’s gone past the point of being picky,” the source continued. “She’s convinced she’s in a state of paralysis when it comes to her dating life.”

Witherspoon allegedly wants Aniston to go on a double date with her and her new boyfriend, private equity investment firm founder Oliver Haarmann. The Legally Blonde actor “wants to set this up so they can kick back together and have some fun outside of work because she’s convinced Jen is in desperate need of some romance,” the source continued.

Jennifer Aniston explained how it’s always been ‘a little bit difficult’ for her to stay in relationships

Jennifer Aniston hasn’t had an easy time with love. She and Brad Pitt married in 2000 and divorced in 2005. Then, her long-term relationship with Justin Theroux didn’t work. Aniston told The Wall Street Journal that her parent’s divorce affected her ability to maintain romances. Her parents, Nancy Dow and John Aniston, divorced in 1980 when she was 9.

“Watching my family’s relationship didn’t make me kind of go, ‘Oh, I can’t wait to do that,'” she said. “It was always a little bit difficult for me in relationships … because I really was kind of alone.”

Aniston added that she “didn’t like the idea of sacrificing who you were or what you needed,” so she found living life solo to be easier than staying in a romance.

In 2023, a source told Us Weekly that Aniston believes she’ll “eventually meet the right person.” However, if she doesn’t, she’s “not going to beat herself up.”

She might have an interest in Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are officially headed for divorce, and Jennifer Aniston might be interested in Affleck once he’s ready to date.

“Jen has definitely had a mini crush on Ben for years, but he’s always been in these very serious, long-term relationships during that time,” an insider close to Aniston alleged to In Touch Weekly. “But change is in the air.”

The source added that Aniston can “make up for lost time” with Affleck as he settles his divorce. “They’ve never really been single at the same time before, and Jen has been a true-blue fan of Ben’s for decades,” they added.
