Reese Witherspoon’s Garden Party Décor Is What Dreams are Made of
Reese Witherspoon knows how to throw a party. The “Big Little Lies” star seemingly loves to host a good get together — she’s been known to dabble quite a bit in entertaining. Witherspoon recently invited friends over for a backyard garden party, where she documented the adorable table settings and the charming décor. And we’re loving what we see.
Reese Witherspoon loves hosting parties
Witherspoon might have built herself a reputation as an accomplished actor, but it turns out there is something else she’s become great at: Hosting parties. Witherspoon once told MarthaStewart.com that she throws “a lot of parties,” but that she typically keeps the events casual.
“A lot [of parties] are in the backyard with barbecue or a tray of enchiladas,” Witherspoon said of her gatherings.
Still, Witherspoon recalled that one party sticks out to her more than any of the others — and it was her 40th birthday party, which she threw in 2016. “It was New-Orleans themed, with mint julep cups and a second-line band,” she continued. “I got to share my southern upbringing with all my favorite people.”
To Witherspoon, no detail is too small. She loves making craft cocktails for her parties, including turning her grandmother’s sweet tea into a tasty alcoholic beverage by adding some vodka (but it’s also delicious on its own, of course).
Reese Witherspoon hosted a garden party — and we’re loving the décor
When the pandemic hit, Witherspoon had to put her party planning on hold. While she loved to entertain, she certainly wasn’t having large groups to her home with the coronavirus not under control. Now that most people have been vaccinated, large groups are becoming more common, and the “Legally Blonde” star is taking advantage of the summer weather by hosting plenty of outdoor parties. Plus, she has the perfect garden space to do it.
On August 15, Witherspoon posted a series of photos from her weekend garden party, and the décor was too charming. Witherspoon held the party underneath outdoor lights, and she set up a table with blue and gold hues, plus vases of greenery for a small pop of color.
The place settings featured blue plates with white and gold flatware. Charming tea candles, plus a cozy table runner, completed the look. Witherspoon had two tables set up in the backyard, each featuring light wood chairs with an off-white seat cushion.
Witherspoon puts just as much effort into the dining experience as she does the décor, but she values the atmosphere more than anything. “Great drinks and good music are all you need,” Witherspoon told MarthaStewart.com a few years back. “Even if the food is bad! If the music is good and the drinks are flowing, everyone is happy.” Witherspoon also posted photos of friends enjoying themselves at the party.
