As a mom, Reese Witherspoon is busy practicing social distancing and teaching her youngest son how to ride a bike. But as a businesswoman, she’s juggling multiple projects.

She just celebrated the release of Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu, the result of her collaboration with fellow actress Kerry Washington. Prior to that, Witherspoon partnered with Jennifer Anniston for The Morning Show on Apple TV+, and executive produced Truth Be Told on the network.

She also runs a lifestyle brand, Draper James, and launched a media company, Hello Sunshine. She’s a busy lady, but Witherspoon found time to do a series for Quibi too.

Reese Witherspoon is the voice of ‘Fierce Queens’

Does that title grab you? Curiosity may get the best of you for the Quibi show that explores queens in their natural habitats around Earth. It’s all about animals. Fierce Queens was developed by BBC Studios and features Witherspoon as a narrator.

Quibi’s synopsis reads:

“Presented by Reese Witherspoon, this nature series explores the fabulous females of the animal kingdom. From ant queens to speedy cheetahs, they call the shots in their world and sit at the top of the social hierarchy earning them the title ‘fierce queens.’ From the multi-award-winning BBC Studios Natural History Unit, this documentary series will bring you the most dramatic natural history stories from a fresh female perspective.”

According to BBC, viewers can expect to see creatures of the air, land, and sea, including whales, meerkats, fireflies, and hyenas.

BBC is excited about partnering with Quibi, Witherspoon

While she has her hands full with a slate of programming in the entertainment field, Witherspoon told Vanity Fair she had to change things up in her career.

She credits her husband Jim Toth, with helping her “reimagine” it. This outing with Quibi happens to be part of her new journey in storytelling.

Fierce Queens executive producer Jo Shinny is thrilled about the project. Per a BBC media release:

“We are delighted to have won our first Quibi commission and be part of this innovative and unique broadcasting initiative. We can’t wait to reveal the astonishing behaviour of the powerful Fierce Queens of the natural world.”
