Enter Deacon Phillippe, who accompanied his mom, Reese Witherspoon, on a mother-son date Tuesday night. They quickly became one of Hollywood’s “it” couples as both saw their acting careers skyrocket. The pair married in 1999 and had two children, Ava, born in 1999, and Deacon, born in 2003.
Reese and Ryan devastated fans when they announced their divorce in 2007, making Ava 8 and Deacon 4 at the time of the split. Citing irreconcilable differences, Reese and Ryan continued to co-parent amicably. The duo has focused on their careers and the well-being of their children since then.

Deacon and Reese rubbed shoulders with many innovators and celebs at the star-studded event. The mother and son took photos with Wicked star Ariana Grande and American Horror Story actor Sarah Paulson. Reese posted another photo to her Instagram Stories, this time of her and Deacon with the caption, “Best date for any event,” tagging her son. Reese took time out of her busy schedule for the evening. The Legally Blonde star has been shooting season 4 of The Morning Show with Jennifer Aniston. She’s been able to see her son more often as the Apple TV+ series shoots in NYC.
Witherspoon is moving on in 2024
Reese Witherspoon has been celebrating a brighter 2024 after announcing her separation from her husband of 13 years, Jim Toth, in March of 2023. After first meeting at a party in 2010, the Cruel Intentions star and Toth married in 2011. The pair had a son, Tennessee, in 2012, giving Ava and Deacon a stepbrother, whom they’ve embraced wholeheartedly.
