Relationship Drama Causes Problems for Gina and Drew on ‘B Positive’
Relationship advice is definitely needed when it comes to B Positive’s Drew and Gina. They have each started new relationships and things are starting to get rocky. Drew is dating a woman he met at the hospital, and Gina is dating Eli, Drew’s friend from dialysis. Will the love last or will it crash and burn? These TV relationships need some help.
Drew is trying to support his girlfriend
During B Positive Season 1 Episode 16 (titled “A Cute Asphyxiation”), Drew (Thomas Middleditch) and his new girlfriend, Adriana (Rosa Salazar), hit a rough patch. Drew wants to support Adriana and be there for her during her cancer treatments, but she needs a little space. He wants to impress her so much that he even tries to get up before her so he can freshen up and brush his teeth.
When Drew tries to schedule time to be with Adriana, things get complicated. His suggestions for lunch, dinner, and breakfast are shot down because of scheduling conflicts. Drew suggests meeting her at her place after chemo so that he can take care of her, but she declines. “I don’t want you to see me after chemo,” says Adriana. “I’ll be sweaty, pukey, and disgusting.”
Although Adriana clearly stated she didn’t want to see Drew after her chemotherapy treatment, he decides to surprise her. However, when he arrives at her house, she isn’t thrilled, and asks him to leave. Drew was only trying to help, but Adriana didn’t want him to see her in such a weakened state.
Gina and Eli begin having relationship problems
During a double date with Gina (Annaleigh Ashford) and Eli (Terrence Terrell), Drew offers to pay for dinner. However, Eli steps in and says he will pay. Gina sends Eli away from the table to get her sweater. Once he’s out of ear shot, Gina tells Drew he should pay for dinner because Eli is broke.
The former football player is so stressed he has even started making videos for Cameo so he can earn extra cash. Eli didn’t want anyone to know about his financial difficulty, so what Gina did creates problems.
Gina told Drew not to tell anyone about Eli’s financial difficulty, but he tells his dialysis group. He also mentions Eli is so broke that he’s selling his Super Bowl ring online. The group gets together and buys the ring back. When Eli shows up for dialysis, they present him with the ring and tell him they are there to support him during this rough time in his life. Eli is upset when he realizes the only way they could know about his financial trouble is because of Gina.
When Gina calls Eli to say hello, he tells her he knows what happened. Gina asks if he wants to talk about it, and he says he doesn’t want to discuss it. Eli feels betrayed. He thought he could trust Gina, but she went behind his back and told Drew about Eli’s situation. Gina and Eli make up, but it seems like they still have some work to do.
