Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs had outrageous parties featuring A-list celebrities. Unfortunately, his afterparties are now the center of attention in his court case. Federal agents arrested Combs in September 2024 and confiscated files containing video of his alleged “freak-offs.” The “freak-offs” were alleged sex parties where he allegedly coerced women into performing sexual acts. Now, a resurfaced clip shows Combs making fun of a DJ who passed out at one of his infamous parties.

A clip shows Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs making fun of an unconscious DJ at his party

Sean “Diddy” Combs parties were all the rage from 1998 to 2009. A-listers and politicians hoped to receive an invite to his infamous White Parties, where everyone in attendance had to follow the strict all-white dress code. While the parties were tame and kid-friendly during the day, the partying allegedly got wilder as the night went on. Celebrities reportedly knew to leave Combs’ parties before 5 a.m., when activities became explicit.

A resurfaced video posted by TMZ shows Combs mocking a passed-out DJ at one of his parties in London in the early 2000s. The clip starts with Combs speaking to the camera.

“For all those in London who don’t know what happens to the white man who comes to a P. Diddy party, this is what happens to the white man,” Combs says. He then pans the camera to a DJ lying face-down on a white couch cushion next to the legs of another partygoer. Others are sitting on the couch beside the DJ.

“You gotta pull back though, so you can see,” Combs tells the person operating the camera. ” … Look at that! Look at that!” he says while a partygoer rests his drink on the DJ’s head. Combs then explains that the passed-out man is an “actual DJ.”

“DJs aren’t supposed to pass out,” Combs said. “But when they come to one of my parties, this is what happens to him. I’ll put him to sleep.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ party invitations were highly coveted. And he “knew how to promote” his events so high-profile individuals wanted to attend.

“The last one to do this was Truman Capote with his Black and White party,” Combs’ former representative, Rob Shuter, told The Hollywood Reporter. “Diddy’s No. 1 talent was he is a publicist; he knows how to promote. He’s from the Donald Trump school of publicity, and he knew how to get attention.”

Celebrity photographer Johnny Nunez explained that Combs’ White Parties made the Hamptons in New York cool for Black folks and people in the hip-hop scene. Previously, the Hamptons were seen as only for wealthy white folks.

“One year, Trump even flew to the Hamptons in a helicopter to go to a White Party afterparty at Club NV,” Nunez said. “Puff imported the DJs that ran the New York City nightclub scene to spin. Socialites who had only ever listened to Z100 and who never knew the depths of Black music were turning up to Bonecrusher and DMX or Luther Vandross and Stephanie Mills. The music was amplifying the exchange of culture. And now, the hip-hop dances on TikTok that every race goes viral doing can be traced back to our culture and the way Puffy introduced Black music to the white elite.”

Other celebrities will be named in connection to the parties

Sean “Diddy” Combs pleaded not guilty to racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. And he’s not the only celebrity to be named in the case. Attorney Tony Buzbee spoke to TMZ Live about how he plans to “file some lawsuits” with other celebrities connected to Combs’ case.

“They, of course, will include Mr. Combs and some corporate entities,” Buzbee said regarding the lawsuits. “But, we want to make sure that if we name individuals beyond Mr. Combs, that we make sure that we’ve done our homework, because it’s going to create a firestorm. We understand that. We’re going to make sure that we dot our I’s and cross our T’s.”
