Kate Middleton shocked everyone back in March 2024 when she revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer. After about six months of chemotherapy treatment, the Princess of Wales then announced in September 2024 that she was officially “cancer free” but added that she still has a long way to go before a full recovery.

Still, the princess said she looks forward to attending more royal engagements this year, and experts just revealed at least two key dates where the princess of planning to show up.

Kate Middleton will attend at least two more royal events this year, insiders claim

The Princess of Wales attended Christmas Day festivities in December 2023, then disappeared from the spotlight for more than three weeks. In mid-January 2024, her team announced that she had undergone abdominal surgery and would require about two months of recovery. But during that time, rumors swirled that Kate was not alive, that divorce was imminent, and pretty much every other difficult theory under the sun. Finally, in a video shared to social media, she revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer.

Kate has attended very few engagements since March. She made it to King Charles’ Trooping the Colour parade as well as the final day of Wimbledon, but otherwise, she’s been focusing on her health. Now, though, she said she has plans to return to work, with experts saying there are two events in the pipeline: Remembrance Day and her annual Christmas concert.

“I know for a fact she’s planning to attend at least two, but there’s hope that certainly there will be more than two,” GB News royal correspondent Cameron Walker said on The Royal Record podcast. “Those two examples are the Cenotaph Remembrance Sunday service … in November; she very much hopes to go to that and she has started, I understand, planning her annual carol concert at Westminster Abbey for the Christmas period in December.” Still, Walker noted those appearances have not been confirmed. He also added that engagements surrounding Kate’s childhood development initiative will also be “pretty high on her priority list” but did not say whether the princess will host or attend any this year.

Kate Middleton has been focusing on health and family

Kate and her husband, Prince William, have very much been putting their kids first as the little ones grow up. They share Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, and the two moved out of Kensington Palace in 2022 and started their kids at a new school in order to give them a more private life.

It seems William and Kate are doing everything they can to protect their children, which is also why Kate took so long to reveal her diagnosis. And in her video she recently shared about her recovery, the prince and princess made it all about their family.

It’s unclear when, or if, Kate will make a full royal return. It’s also possible that this year showed her what truly matters, and she might permanently take a small step back from the royal spotlight in order to better tend to her family.
