Revealed: The Message Kate Middleton Wanted to Send During Her Recent Outing With Prince William
The Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton) shared some happy news with royal fans recently when she announced in a video message that her chemotherapy is complete and she is “cancer-free.” The news came on Sept. 9, nearly six months after the princess first revealed her diagnosis and that she was receiving treatment.
“I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Prince William’s wife said, adding, “Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.”
Now, in her first outing since her health update, an expert noticed that Kate was trying to send her fans another message—this time without saying a word.
Expert explains what Kate was trying to tell people during her outing with her husband
On Sept. 22, Kate was photographed driving in a car with Prince William as the couple attended a service at Crathie Kirk Church in Balmoral. Their three children were not with them at the time but the princess was beaming when she was spotted.
According to body language expert Judi James, Kate smiled and showed a “calm determination” which was meant to be a “reassurance” to all her fans about her recovery.
James told The Mirror: “This might just be a glimpse of Kate in the car but it’s the familiarity of the look that appears reassuring in terms of her recovery status. The tweed hat with the feather is a favorite, suggesting a bit of a jaunty mood as she sets off to Balmoral that could reflect the optimism shown as she announced the end of her treatment.
“She and William keep their eyes on the road here but even without a more formal type of smiling and waving, we can see how Kate is performing a subtle but authentic-looking smile that has an air of not just happiness but also calm determination. There is a dimple visible to show genuine happiness and a slight pursing of the lips to show firmness.”
When the princess will return to her public duties
Since the princess was hospitalized for abdominal surgery earlier this year when doctors discovered her cancer, Kate has made a couple of public appearances. Her first was during King Charles’ Trooping the Colour birthday parade in June. The second was when she attended Wimbledon the following month accompanied by her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister, Pippa Middleton.
Former BBC correspondent and royal expert Jennie Bond has said that she believes the two upcoming events Kate will be attending are Remembrance Day in November and then on Christmas at Sandringham.
Bond told Fabulous: “Big events, maybe such as the Cenotaph Remembrance Day service, might be something where she feels she would want to be … I think big set-piece occasions like that are where we might see her. I’m hopeful we might see her on Christmas Day at Sandringham. The natural progression would be for them to be together at Sandringham on Christmas Day.”
The Palace has not yet released an exact timetable for Kate’s official return.
