‘RHOA’: Falynn Guobadia Called Porsha Williams ‘Real and Genuine’ Before She Dated Simon Guobadia
Porsha Williams recently stunned fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta when she announced her new relationship. After splitting up with Dennis McKinley in 2020, the entrepreneur and activist found love again with Simon Guobadia. The Atlanta businessman is the estranged husband of RHOA newcomer Falynn Guobadia. Before the news of the Bravo star’s romance with Guobadia broke, Falynn spoke to Kandi Buruss about her dynamic with Williams.
Porsha Williams introduced ‘RHOA’ fans to Falynn and Simon Guobadia
During RHOA Season 13, Williams and Falynn appeared together on the show. In an early episode, Falynn invited Williams and her friends Tanya Sam and Shamea Morton to her mansion for a pool party. When they arrived, Falynn introduced the ladies to her husband, Guobadia.
“His wife is just really nice, and we exchanged numbers one day, and she was like, ‘You should come over,'” Williams said in a clip from the episode.
According to People, Falynn and Guobodia were on good terms at the pool party. The pair even considered exchanging their vows. In April 2021, however, they announced their decision to end their marriage after two years. Both Falynn and Guobadia released official statements via Instagram, per The Sun.
“After two years of marriage and five years of friendship, Simon and I have made the difficult decision to go our separate ways,” Falynn wrote. “We are deeply thankful for the impact we have made in each other’s lives as well as the bonds formed with each other’s children.”
Falynn called Porsha Williams ‘genuine’ on an ‘RHOA’ after show
In March 2021, Burruss aired an episode of her YouTube show, Speak on It. The RHOA after-show provides an opportunity for cast members to tell their side of the story as the season progresses. Falynn appeared on Speak on It to discuss her time on the show. She also gushed about her and Guobadia’s marriage and the couple’s age differences. Guobadia is 56 and Falynn is 31.
During their conversation, Burruss mentioned that Falynn came to RHOA as Williams’ friend. Although she did confirm that she met Pilar Jhena’s mom through McKinley, she had nothing but kind words for Williams.
“At some point in time, Porsha and I got to meet, and she was really sweet,” Falynn explained. “She’s always been very real and genuine, so we clicked.”
How Falynn feels about Porsha and Simon’s relationship
Shortly after her RHOA debut, Falynn and Guobadia separated. One month later, Williams posted a photo on Instagram of her, Guobadia, and McKinley together on Mother’s Day 2021. The following day, she confirmed that Falynn’s estranged husband is her new beau. Guobadia also shared the news on his Instagram account and posted a photo of the RHOA peach holder flaunting a stunning diamond ring.
“Our relationship began a month ago—yes, we are crazy in love,” Williams wrote alongside a selfie with Guobadia. “I know it’s fast, but we are living life each day to its fullest. I choose happiness every morning and every night. Tuning out all negative energy and only focused on positive wishes. He makes me so happy, and to me, that is what matters most.”
The recent news resulted in comments from several of Williams’ RHOA cast members. Both NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore shared their thoughts on the matter via Twitter. Additionally, Falynn stated to People that she wants to stay out of Williams and Guobadia’s relationship as much as possible.
“I want to thank everyone for reaching out to me and offering their love and support,” she said. “At this time, I am focusing on finalizing my divorce and healing. Sending positivity to all of you.”
