‘RHOA’: How the Cast Really Feels About Their Reunion being Moved Online
The women of The Real Housewives franchise are known to cause all sorts of drama. But the one thing that even remotely keeps them in check is the knowledge that they will have to face the rest of their castmates again at the reunion once the season airs. But this season, the ladies of The Real Housewives of Atlanta won’t even get the opportunity to confront one another face to face. As coronavirus (COVID-19) has been spreading like wildfire, the U.S. has enforced strict social distancing guidelines that prohibit most production crews from meeting to film television shows and movies. Rather than postpone the RHOA reunion for the foreseeable future, Bravo decided to host the reunion virtually. And the women are not happy.
The ‘RHOA’ reunion will be virtual
Andy Cohen announced the new location for the reunion on his radio show, Radio Andy.
“We are going to be shooting the Housewives of Atlanta reunion virtually,” he said. “This is obviously not how we prefer to do it, but life is not how we prefer it right now.”
“We want to be in the same room, but we cannot risk the health and safety of the Housewives or the incredible crew in Georgia,” he continued. “[RHOA] is regarded by many as the Super Bowl of reunion shows, and it is truly one of my favorite reunions to shoot, I look forward to it, and the fact of the matter is it’s either we do it this way or there’s no Super Bowl this year.”
How do the women feel about an online reunion?
As women who are not afraid to speak their minds, the ladies of RHOA were disappointed to find out that they wouldn’t get the opportunity to do that in person.
“When the ladies found out that [Bravo] made the decision to do the reunion online, they were not happy about it and they tried to talk them out of it,” a source told HollywoodLife. “But it was too late at that point. They already made up their minds, and the virtual reunion is moving forward.”
According to another source, the women were really ready to “confront each other face to face.”
“It’s a huge adjustment to have to do it online,” the source said. “The reunion is so important to them and their fans, and they are all used to doing it one way. They’re all very nervous to change it up. Let’s face it, change is never easy, but they will adjust.”
What drama needs to be covered?
There have been a number of fallouts over the season that will probably be addressed. NeNe Leakes and Kenya More got into a physical altercation on the group trip to Greece where Moore alleged that Leakes spit on her. Moore claimed that Tanya Sam’s boyfriend was trying to cheat on her with a woman she called “the cookie lady.” And to top it all off, Leakes got into an argument with Kandi Buruss in Greece for trying to smooth things over between her and Moore. And that’s all just the tip of the iceberg.
Though the reunion will have to be online, we can still bet that the women of RHOA will bring the heat.
