‘RHOA’: Kandi Burruss Agrees NeNe Leakes is Playing Victim, Addresses ‘Fake’ Comment
Bravo is only a few weeks away from the reunion for The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and though she called reunions stressful, NeNe Leakes is ready and willing to sit down and hand out reads.
We’re sure she won’t be the only one gearing up for the action because outside of the show, Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, and Porsha Williams all have commented on the ongoing drama.
Don’t count on anyone holding their tongue. After “Greece is the Word” aired on March 8, some of the women have been sharing their thoughts on the events in the show and what’s happening in real life. Burruss is one of the latest.
Kandi does an episode recap
Burruss just shared her weekly “Speak On It” recap on her YouTube channel to discuss the first part of their trip to Greece. If you watched, then you know that at the airport, Kandi asked everyone to avoid bringing up Kenya’s divorce issues.
Marlo and NeNe were quick to point out Kenya’s past transgressions and made no promises, but Kandi thought she would be able to broker peace.
In her video, Kandi says the dinner scene between Kenya and NeNe seemed like a big misunderstanding to her, but she agrees that Kenya thanking everyone but NeNe was shady. She also shared that things get worse in upcoming episodes.
Kandi on NeNe’s behavior
All season, fans have been debating over who’s wrong or right in the Kenya-NeNe feud and the Cynthia-NeNe rift, and many brought up each woman’s history on RHOA. This came into play when a fan hit Burruss up on social media to ask her opinion on Leakes’ season 12 behavior.
The viewer asked if she thinks NeNe likes to play the victim to get attention, and Kandi gets very expressive with her response.
“Yes, girl!! Because she’s talking all this smack about me lately, and I’m like ‘For what? For why? I have not done anything to you, lady.’”
Kandi goes on to say she’s invited NeNe to “Speak On It” multiple times and save for one instance when their schedules didn’t sync up, it’s been fruitless.
What about NeNe calling Kandi ‘fake’?
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, NeNe called Kandi a “fake a**” for saying she didn’t know about her friends at the jungle brunch. She found it surprising to hear Kandi say those things in her interview when everyone was so nice to each other at the event.
In response, Kandi defended herself by saying, “Ain’t nothing fake about me,” adding she thought NeNe’s friends were nice but in 11 years, she’d only seen a couple of those women around her. She laughed and said she’ll tell NeNe to her face that she’s not seen her with most of them.
Kandi’s not angry about NeNe’s comments, but viewers are sure to see how some of these side conversations, interviews, and videos play out when it’s reunion time. Two more episodes of RHOA remain for season 12.
