‘RHOA’: Kandi Burruss Shares Why ‘Speak on It’ Won’t Air on Bravo
The Real Housewives of Atlanta recently wrapped up season 13 for Bravo. Throughout the season, cast member Kandi Burruss has recapped the series on her YouTube channel. On her show, Speak on It, the Xscape artist shares her take on each episode and interviews several women from RHOA.
In May 2021, Burruss revealed why fans wouldn’t be watching Speak on It on Bravo.
Why ‘RHOA’ star Kandi Burruss is keeping ‘Speak On It’ away from Bravo
Burruss joined the RHOA cast in season 2. Since her first appearance, the singer/songwriter has been transparent about many aspects of her life, including her career, children, and marriage to Todd Tucker. The 44-year-old entrepreneur also uses her platform to promote other projects, including her sex toy line, Bedroom Kandi. She and Tucker opened two restaurants, Old Lady Gang and Blaze, while filming RHOA.
During season 11 of RHOA, Burruss launched a segment on her YouTube account called Speak on It. Over the past few years, the reality star spoke on some of the biggest scandals of the season. Additionally, Burruss gives cast members such as Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, and Falynn Guobadia a chance to tell their side of the story as the season progresses.
Since its inception, Speak on It became a welcomed extension of RHOA. The after-show helped amplify Burruss’ YouTube page, which has 500,000 subscribers. However, the “Fly Above” singer recently told The Jasmine Brand that she doesn’t plan to take Speak On It to Bravo or any other network.
“I like it on YouTube, to be honest with you,” says Burruss. “I don’t really know how it would be the same on a network, to be honest with you. It really works on Youtube because I can say whatever I want to say. We can use clips and all that stuff, so I think it’s great on Youtube.”
Is Kandi Burruss planning on leaving ‘RHOA’?
RHOA introduced viewers to several new faces for season 13. Actor Drew Sidora joined the show as its newest full-time cast member. Additionally, Guobadia and influencer LaToya Ali attended several events as friends of the show. The newcomers soon divided the cast between the “nieces” and the “aunties” in the later episodes of the season.
Although Burruss didn’t let the “nieces” affect her in season 13, she admitted to the Jasmine Brand that she’s contemplated leaving RHOA. The “Understanding” singer is the show’s longest-running cast member and said the thought of quitting had crossed her mind many times.
“You just contemplate like I don’t know when is your time what do you, you just don’t know,” Burruss explains, adding that, “It’s not like a definite answer you know what I mean, It’s like I enjoy being a part of the show but it is stressful at times, it is a lot going on you know, but I do love the fans I love the support of the fans.”
