‘RHOA’: Nene Leakes Claps Back at Haters Saying Her ‘Reads’ Are Scripted
Nene Leakes from The Real Housewives of Atlanta was on fire during the premiere episode of the reunion. The “tastiest peach” got so heated during the reunion that left for a minute as she was attacked from her co-stars. However, Leakes had some great zingers for her adversaries that shut them down. They were so good, some of her fellow Housewives are saying they’re scripted.
Is Nene Leakes paying for ‘reads?’
Leakes’ “reads” were a topic of conversation during Watch What Happens Live after the first part of the RHOA reunion aired. Sheree Whitfield was a guest star on the late-night show when she shaded her former co-star.
“I think Nene did really good tonight, her reads were amazing,” Whitfield said. “Whoever she paid for those, she owes them.”
Host Andy Cohen intervened noting that Kenya Moore had actually called out Leakes for sounding scripted.
“I don’t think it’s far-fetched,” Whitfield added. “She did great on her reads tonight, so again, glad she paid. I thought Kenya did great too on her read.”
It wasn’t long before Leakes took to social media to react to the shade that was getting thrown her way.
“Yes, my reads are written down and rehearsed,” she tweeted. “Remember, I’m elderly, menopausal, and have no fu**in memory. In my younger days, I sat on [the] couch and read you bit***s from the top of my wig and have the most iconic reads to date.”
Fans react to Nene Leakes’ clap back
After Leakes clapped back at her haters her fans came in to weigh-in on what they saw during the reunion.
“Girl, we don’t care if you have a ghostwriter, screenwriter, speechwriter,” a fan replied. “If you do, you are in the company of kings and presidents, even Winston Churchill had a speechwriter. They just mad you are more skilled at using the library.”
“They hate to give you your credit,” a follower added. “How are your reads written down when you don’t know what the other girls are going to say?”
“[Nene] annihilated Eva [Marcille], exposed Kandi for the hater she is, and started tearing into Kenya’s a**,” a Twitter user explained. “She didn’t finish [Kenya] yet but she’s keeping up just fine. The ‘youngest’ Eva is the one who hasn’t caught up yet and the ‘oldest’ 54Cynt said maybe a sentence all night.”
“At this point, you can do whatever you want,” another fan said. “Nene, you earned your title and no one can take that away from you.”
“Those girls need to stop,” another follower mentioned. “You made RHOA what it is. No one would watch without you.”
“The haters [are] all trying to come for you,” another Twitter user commented.
Andy Cohen muted Nene Leakes
One of Leakes’ epic reads on Marcille got so heated that Cohen had to intervene and mute the former.
“All you can talk about is [America’s Next] Top Model,” Leakes yelled at Marcille. “And that was the last time you was on top. You a freshman bi**h, remember that.”
Marcille tried to come back with a shady comment but all she could come up with on the spot was to say, “You’re a grad student, double time.”
“A lot of us are your elders. Respect your elders,” Leakes said as she snapped.
The bickering continued back and forth until Cohen had enough and muted them to continue with the reunion.
