‘RHOA’: Nene Leakes Shades Kenya Moore by Retweeting Fans
Nene Leakes and Kenya Moore are not in good terms on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The Bravo stars have been at odds with each other and have rarely been seen together during the current season 12. Episode 15 saw them crossing paths again but Moore was less than excited to see Leakes drop by a gathering she organized. The former beauty queen went out of her way to make Leakes feel excluded from the night out.
Moore sent out an invite on Instagram where she tagged all the main RHOA girls except for Leakes. The new mother took the extra step of tagging Gregg Leakes, extending an invite to him but not to his wife.
In the end, Leakes shows up to the bowling alley with her husband saying that he doesn’t go anywhere without her. Moore was not excited to see her and even turned the other way when Leakes tried to greet her.
Marc Daly, Moore’s husband, intervened in their interaction and extended an invite to a charity event he is hosting. If it was up to Moore, she wouldn’t have invited them, but she came to terms that Daly wants them there.
Nene Leakes shades Kenya Moore
Leakes didn’t tweet much while the episode was airing on Bravo but she let her fans do the talking. While viewers live-tweeted RHOA, Leakes retweeted some of the shady messages her fans were mentioning her in.
“Kenya…Ken or whoever she is… she’s so jealous of you,” a fan tweeted Leakes.
“I love that Nene Leakes extended 7 minutes to The Kenya,” a viewer tweeted.
“Kenya describing herself when describing Nene Leakes. Like ma’am,” said another one of the messages Leakes retweeted.
Kenya Moore says Nene Leakes is getting phased out
The feud between Moore and Leakes reached new heights when the former hinted that Bravo was phasing out.
“She tries so hard to tell people she’s the HBIC,” Moore told Entertainment Tonight. “She’s the this, she’s the that. She’s the originator. ‘Oh, the real premiere just starts…’ And in fact, her presence now is not impactful at all. She’s missed out on at least four to five episodes this season, so that clearly means the network is sending you a message. You’re not as important as you think you are.”
Days later, Leakes also gave an interview where she fired back at Moore’s claims. Her theory is that the latter is thinking wishfully so she could be the HBIC of RHOA.
“How does she know? I mean, does she… is she in production?” Leakes asked during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I think that she would love for me to be gone, so she could be, in her mind, the head of the show, or the queen of the show, or the one that everyone is talking about. With me there, it’s very difficult for her to have that kind of thing. So, I also think that, if I leave the show and Kenya stays on the show, she will be the demise of the show.”
Leakes later clarified that she has appeared on all the episodes she signed up for. Andy Cohen also denied that Leakes was being cut out of the show.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
