‘RHOA’: Nene Leakes Doubles Down on Drama, Says Kenya Moore ‘Needs to Be Spit On’
Nene Leakes is not holding back her tongue on The Real Housewives of Atlanta drama. The OG of the ATL is doubling down on her comments saying that Kenya Moore “needs to be spit on.” Both Bravo stars have been at odds with each other throughout season 12 and have taken their feud to the press.
What is spit-gate?
Spit-gate is the new controversy around the RHOA cast that was produced during the current season of the show. The confrontation involves Moore and Leakes, who have been trying to avoid each other during filming. In a preview for what’s ahead on the reality series, fans were able to see the infamous moment that has caused a ruckus on social media.
In the clip, Leakes is seen hawking up saliva to attack Moore with her spit. The scene is not clear as Bravo is only teasing it so people could stay-tuned to the show.
Did Nene Leakes spit on Kenya Moore?
Leakes has categorically denied that she actually spat on Moore, she has said that she only acted like she was going to do it. However, the Glee alum said in a recent interview that she wished she had done it.
“I don’t even know what was going through my mind in that moment, but what I do know is, I didn’t spit on her — but I sorta, kinda wish I had,” Leakes told Entertainment Tonight.
The relationship between Leakes and Moore doesn’t seem to be going down a path of reconciliation. Leakes reinforced her comments and said Moore deserved to be spit on.
“I’m just gonna be honest about that, because I just think some of the things Kenya says is really nasty and really dirty. And I just feel like, girl, you are just — you probably need to be spit on. You just probably need to be. And it may not sound great, but she probably needs to be spit on. And I have no sympathy for her. I just don’t,” Leakes added.
Kenya Moore shades Nene Leakes
In the middle of their ongoing feud, Moore suggested that Bravo producers were trying to fire Leakes. Due to the fact that Leakes has not been in all of the episodes, Moore said producers are phasing her out of RHOA.
“She tries so hard to tell people she’s the HBIC,” Moore said to ET in an interview. “She’s the this, she’s the that. She’s the originator. ‘Oh, the real premiere just starts…’ And in fact, her presence now is not impactful at all. She’s missed out on at least four to five episodes this season, so that clearly means the network is sending you a message. You’re not as important as you think you are.”
Moore feels that Leakes causes unnecessary drama on the show and she’s her own enemy.
“NeNe has been on the show for a very long time, and I just think the cast is not gelling with her. She always puts herself on an island. She makes these fights with people that don’t actually have to occur and she’s really the cause of her own demise,” Moore added.
Leakes has denied she’s been cut out of RHOA episodes and Andy Cohen backed her up on those claims.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
