‘RHOA’ Star Phaedra Parks Praises ‘King’ Jalen Hurts on Behalf of Black Women Everywhere
Phaedra Parks hasn’t publicly dated a professional athlete, but she might be making a move on Super Bowl LIX champion Jalen Hurts. The Real Housewives of Atlanta personality took to social media to express her gratitude for the NFL quarterback. In addition for her obvious dislike of the Kansas City Chiefs, Parks made it clear that she’s comfortable speaking on behalf of Black women regarding Hurts.
Phaedra Parks and Jalen Hurts have a few things in common
On February 9, the Philadelphia Eagles thrashed the Kansas City Chiefs 40–22, winning their first Super Bowl championship since Super Bowl LII seven years prior and second championship overall. Jalen Hurts demonstrated elite leadership skills throughout the competition, stepping up for his team in an effort that culminated in the Super Bowl MVP.
The 26-year-old demonstrated humility on and off the field, thanking God as he was interviewed by Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews immediately after the Eagles’ win. “God is good,” Hurts stated as confetti fell around him. “He’s greater than all the highs and the lows. And I think personally, myself, I’ve just been able to use every experience and learn from it. The good, the bad, all of it. Using it as fuel to pursue my own greatness.”
Hurts gave God the credit, which certainly appeals to Phaedra Parks. The 51-year-old has often spoken about her faith and its importance in her life. In addition to being a lawyer and reality TV star, she is also a licensed funeral director and has expressed her deep connection to spirituality, including preaching and mentoring. Parks took to Instagram to credit God and Hurts for allowing the Eagles to “dog walk KC.”
Parks posted a montage of videos and photos of Jalen Hurts. She added the caption, “Just when I thought #BlackHistoryMonth couldn’t get any better God allows the #Eagles to dog walk KC in NOLA. Thank you @JalenHurts. On behalf of black women we appreciate you for having a team of beautiful black women; his agent, his attorney and his fiancé and none of them are DEI hires. #jalenhurts #superbowl #winner #blackisbeautiful.”
Many of Parks’ social media followers echoed her sentiments, commenting, “Yes!!! He’s the epitome of what black men should be! The culture won tonight!!” Another wrote, “He is a fine, humble, Christian man!! It don’t get no better than that!”

Was Parks hitting on Hurts? Not exactly (although the Instagram montage included some thirsty photos of the pro QB). However, she was recognizing his impact regarding faith, politics, and football. Who are these beautiful Black women Parks mentioned? Hurts’ agent, Nicole Lynn, is a powerhouse in the sports industry. In 2023, the attorney negotiated Hurts’ five-year, $255 million contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles, making him the highest-paid player in NFL history at the time.
Hurts’ fiancée, Bryonna Burrows, works in tech and business consulting and has held leadership roles at IBM. Known for her intelligence, ambition, and low-key nature, she maintains a relatively private life despite Hurts’ NFL stardom. The pair went public with their relationship last year, but they’ve been together much longer.
Burrows and Hurts met nearly a decade ago when they were both students at the University of Alabama. The college sweethearts stayed in touch when he transferred schools and joined the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2024, they confirmed their engagement. Prior to Super Bowl LIX, Hurts told Burrows, via ESPN, “To Bry, the Mrs., thank you for the support, thank you for the love. And thank you for being the rock that I can lean on.”
It sounds like Parks’ chances of snagging Hurts are nonexistent. But she can certainly thank him for what he’s done in football and popular culture.
