During The Real Housewives of Atlanta premiere on Dec. 6, viewers had plenty to say about the show on social media.

There was commentary about Nene Leakes’ gaping absence and Kenya Moore’s communication skills, but also praise for Porsha Williams’ activism. In one scene, her beau Dennis McKinley is heard on camera with her during a protest. But many fans have been wondering about the status of the couple’s relationship and whether the engagement is on or off.

Breakup and make up rumors plagued Williams and McKinley

Whispers of an alleged mistress and ongoing infidelity accusations have surrounded McKinley for months. But back in March, Williams posted a photo of her and McKinley out on a double date with RHOA castmate Tanya Sam and her husband.

That seemingly indicated they were in a good place romantically, and the pair celebrated daughter Pilar Jhena’s first birthday that same month.

Fast forward to October and McKinley gifted Williams with a large bouquet of congratulatory roses which she posted on Instagram. They were also spotted at Mike Hill and Cynthia Bailey’s wedding, and the duo even took pictures together.

While fans thought the flower gesture signified a possible reconciliation, McKinley dropped a message on his Instagram Stories saying he was single. All of this happened within days.

Porsha Williams sets record straight on McKinley

Williams appeared on the Dec. 6 episode of Watch What Happens Live and host Andy Cohen took fan questions. Williams was asked about McKinley, and she confirmed they are both single and not living together.  

“We are single! But we’re very cordial. We have a great co-parenting relationship,” she said.

Nearly one year after announcing they were re-engaged, the couple has officially called it quits. But for the remainder of season 13, much of Williams’ storyline will focus on her work as an activist and her daily duties as a mother. However, there will be some time spent on McKinley.

Williams’ castmates speak on her former relationship

Earlier this month, Williams’ RHOA co-stars Cynthia Bailey and Kandi Burruss sat for an interview with Us Weekly and talked about how they’re rooting for her. They want her to be happy

“My husband and Dennis, they’ve gotten really close,” said Bailey to the outlet. “Porsha and I, you know, we always come together. We’re in a great place. Mike and Dennis are good friends. I just think when Porsha and Dennis are together, I’ve just never seen her look happier. It just seems to work until it doesn’t work. So we’re rooting for Porsha and Dennis,” she said.

Burruss shared that she would love it if things worked out for Williams and McKinley. “It would be really great if they could figure it out and make it work. But it’s just is that in the cards for their real lives? It’s not like they’re doing it just for TV,” she explained.

Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. EST. Viewers can tune in to catch up with the ladies and to see the OGs welcome new women into the crew.
