‘RHOA’ Reunion Spoilers: Andy Cohen Mutes Nene Leakes After She Epically Reads Eva Marcille
The ladies of The Real Housewives of Atlanta always deliver and fans are anxiously awaiting the season 12 reunion. This year the peaches didn’t meet face-to-face but they all connected via a video conference. Not being in the same room didn’t deter the Housewives from shading and reading each other. Bravo released a preview of a heated exchange between Nene Leakes and Eva Marcille that Andy Cohen had to intervene.
Leakes and Marcille have been feuding online for weeks and they finally confronted each other at the reunion. During their encounter, both RHOA stars were talking about their accomplishments and relevancy in the media.
“All you can talk about is [America’s Next] Top Model,” Leakes yelled at Marcille. “And that was the last time you was on top. You a freshman bi**h, remember that.”
Marcille clapped back by saying, “You’re a grad student, double time.” Her comeback left Kandi Burruss confused though.
“A lot of us are your elders. Respect your elders,” Leakes said as she snapped.
Leakes and Marcille continued to talk over each other and it became difficult to understand what each of them was saying. Cohen had to intervene and hit the mute button to make the yelling stop.
“Oh, they went on mute. No, y’all did not,” Porsha Williams is heard saying as an inaudible Leakes continue to seemingly yell.
Why are Nene Leakes and Eva Marcille feuding?
Marcille was mostly missing during season 12 of RHOA due to her pregnancy. In an interview to promote the Bravo reality series, Leakes said that although Atlanta has a great cast, she feels Marcille didn’t bring much to the show.
“We have a great cast right now except for one person, I think,” Leakes told Entertainment Tonight. “I think only one person on this cast doesn’t seem to have carried any weight this season. And I think that’s very obvious who that person is, and I don’t think they actually sit in the cast that well.”
To be fair, Leakes was only answering a question that was posed to her, she didn’t go out of her way to say she didn’t like her personally.
“I don’t feel like Eva brings that much to the cast,” Leakes added. “I’m just being honest. It’s really like, when you look at a show like, everybody — like the whole cast — is away, and you don’t miss the person at all, it’s sort of like, we didn’t even know you were here, you know? And all season, doing a lot of scenes from FaceTime, that’s been the last couple of seasons … So, If I had to change, I would change her.”
What did Eva Marcille say?
It wasn’t long before Marcille clapped back during an Instagram Live session.
“As far as my relevance on the show, I choose not to… every single day be ratchet, there is already enough ratchet, i.e. her, on the show,” the former model said. “Why do you need two? I do me, and represent the other part of Black women that are smart … well-spoken. That’s who I represent. So, if I’m that boring, you spent time in your interview talking about me because your storyline is the fact that you have no storyline.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sunday at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
